Chapter 23: A Lie of Omission

Miraculously, Rory felt better over the weekend, giving Angela a chance to catch up on her sleep. But, unfortunately, she didn't take advantage of it. Friday night, she lay in bed dissecting Griffin's words repeatedly in her head. He missed her and wanted to be with her. He said he hadn't stopped thinking about her, just as he had never been far from her thoughts. But could she trust him? There was so much more at stake now, and Cookie was still part of the picture. Her first responsibility was to protect Rory at all costs.

On Saturday, Angela tossed and turned all night, tormenting herself with thoughts of Griffin. Memories of his muscular thighs, chiseled chest and sculpted buttocks dominated her thoughts. She imagined his tongue traveling over her body, lingering between her legs. By early morning, she awoke so tense that she finally pleasured herself with urgent, quick strokes, moaning Griffin's name as she finished.
