Chapter 36: An Uninvited Guest

The next day, as Angela was clearing her desk for the day, her phone rang. “I’ve been craving Sushi,” Griffin’s voice said in her ear. “Can you recommend a good restaurant?”

“Sure,” Angela said. “I’ll text you a few. There’s one right by your hotel.”

“Care to join me?” Griffin asked, his tone mischievous. “I hate eating alone. Of course, if you’d prefer eggs again, I’m up for it.”

"They were good eggs,” Angela flirted, remembering how they had taken turns tying each other up with the silk scarves in the kitchen. She chewed her lip thoughtfully for a moment. “I don’t think it’s a good idea to be seen out in public together.”

“Why?” Griffin asked. “It’s only dinner. We’re working together. Won’t it look weirder if we look like we’re avoiding each other altogether? I promise we’ll sit in the brightest area of the restaurant at a respectable distance so everyone can see nothing is going on between us.”
