A step forward

Jennie sat beside Rosie, who was having a restless night's sleep, plagued by strange nightmares. After a while, Rosie finally woke up, looking disoriented. Jennie smiled warmly and hugged her. "It's a relief you're alright, Rosie."

Rosie smiled weakly. "Yeah, I'm fine."

Jennie's expression turned concerned. "Everyone at the agency was worried about you. We're glad you're safe."

Rosie didn't mention the nightmares, thinking that Jennie and the others might not know anything about them, or worse, might be hiding something from her. She changed the subject. "So, what happened with Edward?"

Jennie's face turned serious. "He's been sent to our agency's special prison. He'll face justice for what he did to you."

Rosie hummed, still worried about Mr. Joseph's influence. "He has too much wealth and power. I fear he'll find a way to get Edward off the hook."

Jennie reassured her, "Don't worry, we'll ensure Edward faces the consequences of his actions."

Rosie glanced around the room, feeling trapped. "I should head back to the agency. I have more missions to attend to."

Jennie chuckled. "I don't think so, Rosie. Alphonso is quite protective of you, and the doctor has ordered a week of complete bed rest. You're not going anywhere until you're fully recovered."

Rosie's eyes widened in surprise. "Oh, really? That's a problem."

Jennie smiled. "Don't worry, we've got everything under control at the agency. You focus on your recovery."

As they talked, Jennie called out to Nisha, and they headed to the dining table. Nisha served them food, and they began eating. Jennie brought up Mr. Joseph, trying to extract information from Nisha. "Nisha, your father must be very busy, huh? He's rarely at home."

Nisha hesitated, "Y-yes... he's always busy... That's why he's not home most days."

Jennie pretended to be a fan, trying to gather more information. "Actually, my friends and I are huge fans of Mr. Joseph. We'd love to have dinner with him and discuss some matters. My uncle is a news reporter, and it would be great to have him featured in the news again!"

Alphonso, who had been quiet until then, spoke up. "Actually, he'll be free the week after next. Maybe you can meet him then."

Jennie nodded, exchanging a knowing glance with Rosie. Rosie thought to herself, "Wow, Jennie is smart. She got the information we needed. Now we can plan our next move and investigate Mr. Joseph."

After finishing their meal, Jennie left in the evening, leaving Rosie still recovering at Alphonso's house. Rosie sighed, feeling restless. "I'm still stuck here... This is so boring. I wish I could go out and do something, but my injuries make it impossible."

Just then, Alphonso entered her room, concern etched on his face. "Hey, Rosie, how are you feeling?"
