The Plotting of The East

The cold wind of night hit his face as he raised his head from slumber. His eyelids blinked repeatedly, dispersing the blurriness that resided in his vision. As he regained his consciousness, his attention was fixed to the large painting in the room.

A painting of a man, tall and handsome, with pointy nose and thin lips, but also baldness that was surrounded by thick black hair. Only then he realized that it was the city lord of Storsea, one he had met before.

Tipsy, ignoring the feeling as if his head was going to explode, he redirected his sight in search of Cassian and the city lord. Yet, his search ended in vain as he realized the only presence in that room was a mere servant that stood by the side of the entrance.

He stood up, almost tumbling downward in the process.

The servant noticed and approached quickly with a worried face.
