‘’Marry me.’’ 

Leona glared at the man who had the audacity to say those words, ‘’I can’t wait to kill you and you have the audacity to ask me to marry you. Aren’t you afraid I would kill you when you are sleeping?”

‘’I don’t mind.’’ 

‘’Get lost!’’ she snapped. 

A few days later: 
The man lowered his head, looking deep into her eyes, his gaze sincere, ‘’Marry me.’’

Leona looked at the man speechlessly and waved her hand, ‘’You are my ex-husband.’’ 

Although they were on better terms now, but there was no way they were getting romantically entangled ever again. 

An eternity later: 
‘’Won’t you marry me?” 

Leona looked at the man who was standing at a little distance from her, tears brimmed in her eyes as she spoke, ‘’I am in a pathetic state and I might implicate you too. I don’t know what’s happening to me and I don’t know what the future holds. I don’t even know who I am or what my past is…’’ 

The man covered the distance between them and wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her closer, ‘’Do I look like I care?” 

As his words fell, her lips were captured in a fiery kiss that knocked the breath out of her.

The Mafia Princess' Ex-Husband

"Hmm?" Svetlana looked up from her phone and glanced at the closed door. She just heard some noises from inside but why was there no response?

She knocked a few times before pushing open the door, ''Leona?"

''I am here…'' the voice came from bathroom.

Inside the bathroom, Leona had Zayden pinned to the wall with one elbow while she pressed an ear on the door.

''Are you taking a shower at this hour?" Svetlana sighed, ''You just recovered from cold. If you take such off time showers, then you will catch a cold again…''

''My body was quite sore so I wanted to soak in warm water,'' the voice came from the bathroom.

Svetlana nodded, ''Alright then. Come over for lunch after you take a shower. I am waiting…''

''No… no… don't wait for me. I… am not hungry,'' Leona suppressed the noises of her stomach and said with a heavy heart.

Svetlana's footsteps approached closer.
