Please Stay

Grace spent the weekend alone; she had expected Raymond to show up, but he didn't. She had to wake up, eat, watch a movie, swim, and sleep again.

"Finally, it's school day," she sighed as she got into the car, which took off.

"Good morning, Miss Chen." Mr. Li said, and she smiled at him, "How are you doing today?"

"I am good," he smiled and increased the volume of the car radio. They were talking about a famous boxer who had returned to China after so many years.

"Oh my…" Grace gasped in disbelief, and just then her phone rang, and it was Steph.

They both screamed that Mr. Li was shocked. "Friend, it's Ancaan; he is in China."

"I know, I just heard it. Oh, my God." Grace couldn't contain her excitement.

"Hurry up and come to school," Steph said as she hung up.

"Miss Chen, are you a fan of Ancaan the boxer?"

"Yes, you love him to?" she asked, and Mr. Li chuckled.

"I never knew you liked boxing."

She bit her lower lip. "Well, I don't like boxing." It's not like any of his female fans loved or even understood boxing.

All they loved about him was his face, his body when he took off his shirt, and his beautiful tattoos.

"I understand" Mr. Li nodded as they arrived at school. She walked down the car and found Steph and Ken waiting for her, so she rushed to them.

There was a crowd in front, which was caused by a huge poster of Ancaan in his boxing shots.

"It's tomorrow; we have to go." Steph said it crazily, but Ken was left speechless by the car that just dropped Grace off.

"The ticket will be super expensive." Steph sighed, and just then Nora walked past them with a smile.

"Guess who got a ticket for Ancaan's boxing game? Me, my dad got one for me; guess if you were still home then you would have gotten one as well," she mocked, and Grace snorted.

"We both know that's a lie."

"We don't like Ancaan, or else we would have gotten a VIP ticket" Steph chimed in, and Grace nodded, though it was a lie. They loved Ancaan so much.

"Liars," she waved the ticket at them before she left.

"I want to see Ancaan," Grace pouted. It was time for classes, so they both walked in.

There was a devotion, and the principal had organized this specifically to talk about the topic of Ancaan. "I know you young girls are crazy about a toxic person like Ancaan."

"He is not toxic," one of them yelled out.

"I love his body," they chuckled.

"I will advise the students to concentrate on their studies for their final exams rather than going for a boxing game; if I find out that one of you went to that boxing event, then you won't be spared," he warned, and there were grumbles in the crowd.

After the principal left, the students could now speak loudly: "I can't miss it; I will proudly do my punishment if I am caught." They kept laughing.

"Grace, ask your boyfriend for two VIP tickets," Steph suggested, but Grace frowned at her; she wasn't going to ask such a thing from him.

After school, Mr. Li picked Grace up and drove out of school. "Mr. Li, will you attend Ancaan's game?"

"Yes," he replied, and her eyes lit up. "Can I come with you?"

"Uhm, I think you should ask Mr. Xu that."

"He won't find out; please let me go with you." She had puppy eyes as she folded her hands and pleaded.

"I am sorry, Miss Chen. If we go without his permission, then he will kill me."

Grace sighed; she really wanted to go for the game. "Do you think Ancaan will win?" she asked instead, and Mr. Li chuckled.

"You know, I watched Ancaan grow."

"You did?"

"Hm, I used to drive him around the city back then. He always escaped from the dom to go sign in for a game."

"What's a dom?" She asked, and he sighed, "Home."

"So if you know Ancaan, then does Mr. Xu know him?"

He nodded; this made Grace's eyes light up. "So will he also go watch the game?"

"Maybe"

She stared out of the window when an idea came to mind: "Please stop the car."

"Why?"

"I want to get that," she said, pointing at the grilled crabs by the road, and he sighed.

"Fine," he said, parking the car, and she rushed out.

She bought some crabs and hurried back to the car. All her teeth were exposed as she kept smiling.

Finally, they got to the mansion, and she ignored the maid's greetings and hurried upstairs to her bedroom. "What's with her?" Krish asked anxiously.

Grace took out her phone and dialed Raymond's contact, which soon got connected. His usual cold tone came in, "I am listening."

"Uhm, you haven't been here for days."

"Hm, I have been busy."

"I have a problem; can you come?"

"What problem?"

She didn't know what to say, then her gaze moved to the street lights, which weren't on. "It's about the street lights."

"What about it?"

"Early this morning, when it was still dark, I discovered that only three were on."

Beep

The call got disconnected, and she smiled, so she freshened up and hurried downstairs with her crabs.

"Miss Chen, please come eat," Nel said, but she shook her head in denial.

She got a dish, placed the big crabs in it, and hurried to the kitchen to make some citrus juice.

They all wondered why she was so excited, when she was done with the juice. She walked to the sitting room and found Raymond there.

He sat on the couch with a tired look; his eyes were closed as he leaned his head on the chair.

"When did he come?" She placed the juice on the table and walked to him.

She couldn't take her eyes off his strong jawline and long eyelashes. "Why did you lie about the street lights?"

She flinched, then he sighed and opened his eyes. "Uhm…"

"Well, now I am here. What do you want from me?" He raised a brow, and his gaze moved to the crabs and the juice.

"I didn't thank you properly for helping me out in school, so I got you this."

"You could have simply told me to come; I would have come."

"Really?"

She smiled and sat on the floor and handed him a glass of citrus juice. "It's good to eat crabs with citrus juice; I will peel it for you." She took the gloves, but he snatched them from her.

"Let me"

He put on the gloves and picked one of the crabs and peeled it. A smile crept on her lips. Then she took her phone and played one of Ancaan's past games.

Raymond stopped peeling when he saw the video: "Why don't we watch a game while eating?"

"You want a ticket to that?" He raised a brow, and her eyes widened in shock.

"How did you know?"

He was aware of how crazy girls were for Ancaan, but he never imagined she would be as well.

Then he shoved a little piece of the crab inside her mouth, and she chewed it. "I can't afford a ticket to that," he blurted.

"But you said you had money that no one could count."

"Yes, but my money isn't meant for such."

He dropped the crab and took out the gloves, about to stand up, when she held his hands and said, "Please don't leave."

Grace didn't know why she wanted him around always, but he hardly showed up. Now he was here and wanted to leave.
