Chapter 2 Stupid Wife

"What the heck are you doing, you crazy witch?"

Ruby raised her eyes, water falling from her hands as she looked toward the voice.

She saw a guy in a long white robe with red edges. He had fluffy black hair, baby blue eyes, and fair skin.

Her crystal red eyes widened as she saw him riding a skate bicycle in the air.

His eyes also widened. "Stupid wife, move away! Move away, stupid wife!" Karl shouted. He didn't even know how to drive the Ecto bike properly.

Ecto bikes were common devices for short-distance travel, controlled by spiritual energy and willpower. His bike bounced erratically as he struggled to control it.

Seeing his wife frozen in shock, he shouted again, "Stupid wife, move away! Can't you see I'm driving on the road?"

Ruby, standing near the riverbank, was stunned. "What—"

"Move!" he shouted again, and Ruby snapped back to her senses, stepping aside. However, Karl lost control of the Ecto bike and veered towards her.

"What—" Ruby tried to dodge, but Karl crashed into her. His Ecto bike flew toward a nearby mountain stone, and both of them tumbled into the river with a splash.

"Stupid, stupid, why can't you see I am driving?" he yelled angrily, holding her cheeks as he pinned her down.

"Get off me... I can't breathe," Ruby said, trying to push him away. She didn't realize that she used a bit of her strength, and he fell off her body.

"You—" Karl's eyes suddenly turned red. "Stupid wife, you threw me! You threw me!" he wailed, and suddenly another set of crocodile tears streamed down his face.

His tears seemed to have more water than the thin river beside them, enough to make the river feel ashamed.

"Hey, hey, stop crying. Stop crying. I didn't mean to throw you that hard." Ruby said, trying to stand up. She extended her hand to help him.

He slapped her hand away and looked at her with an angry expression on his face before standing up angrily.

"I know you're blind, but you can't even see me driving on the road, stupid wife." he said angrily, glaring at her.

Ruby felt her head pounding because of his nonsense, and she didn't even know where she was currently.

"Where is the road?" Ruby asked coldly.

Hearing her, his eyes widened even more. "Wooooooooo *hiccup* I came here to save you, but woooo... You're making fun of my driving skills..." he said, crying.

"Stop crying, stop crying," Ruby tried to hold his arms, but he shook off her hands. Wiping his crocodile tears, he looked at her angrily.

"Stupid wife, let's go." he said, walking towards his ecto-bike, which had fallen.

'Stupid wife?' The words echoed in her mind. Her mind went blank. What's happening? When did she get married? Was this the legendary transmigration?

She looked at her hands and was shocked when she saw cold but fair hands with nails painted blood red.

Karl came back holding the ecto-bike and saw his 'stupid wife' standing there, looking confused.

He ignored her, put the ecto-bike on the ground, and held the handle of the bike. "Stand behind me, or I'll leave you, stupid wife," he shouted.

She was still in shock, not knowing her situation or where she was, so she decided to trust this guy. She stood behind him, her clothes wet and clinging to her body.

Suddenly, her body jerked forward as he started the bike, and they began flying in the sky.

"Stupid wife, you almost made me lose my balance with your weight," he said angrily.

Ruby was taken aback. She looked at her body and thought,'I'm not that fat, alright! This guy spouts nonsense so much.'

She held on tightly, trying to make sense of this bizarre situation.

As they flew higher, Ruby clung tightly to Karl, her heart pounding.

Suddenly, the bike wobbled violently, causing them to swerve unpredictably in the sky.

"Hold on tighter, stupid wife!" Karl shouted, trying to regain control of the bike.

His hands gripped the handlebars fiercely, but the bike continued to veer erratically, dipping and rising like a roller coaster.

"Are you trying to kill us both?" Ruby yelled, her voice filled with panic. She tightened her grip around his waist, her eyes wide with fear.

"Stupid wife! Don't yell," Karl retorted, almost crashing into a tree. He swerved at the last second, nearly throwing Ruby off the bike.

For her dear life, Ruby didn't dare say anything more to this guy. She clung to him, praying they'd land soon. The pieces were starting to come together; she might actually be married to this lunatic. Even though she hadn't received any memories, the clues were becoming too obvious to ignore.

All the way, Ruby felt like her soul was leaving her body.

They narrowly avoided multiple crashes, each one more terrifying than the last. Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Karl brought the bike down to the ground, coming to a shaky stop.

Ruby was traumatized. She slid off the bike, her legs wobbly and her heart racing. "Never... again." she whispered to herself, swearing to avoid any future rides with this guy.

"Where are we?" Ruby asked, her heart still racing. Peering through the thick fog, she spotted abandoned cottages in the distance.

"We're at our home, you stupid wife!" he snapped angrily.

Confused, Ruby scanned the area. "Where is... home?" she asked, her eyes widening in disbelief.

"Right here, stupid!" he pointed towards a slum plastic House near tree.

The slum house was a flimsy structure made of patched plastic sheets and old tarps, barely held together by ropes and wooden stakes. It leaned against a tree for support, with a sagging roof, flapping sides, and small windows on the left side.

Reluctantly, he pulled her inside.

The cramped space revealed another guy curled up on a small bed, fast asleep.

Ruby's temples throbbed as she surveyed the cramped space that lacked even basic furniture. She couldn't comprehend the situation. "And who is he?" she asked.

Karl looked at her as if she had lost her mind. "Have you forgotten your fourth husband already?"
