Adrian stared at him in silence for a few seconds longer.
Then, as if deciding it wasn't worth the energy, he sighed and let his body sink back onto the bed.
"…Alright. Just sleep now," he muttered, pulling the blanket back up.
"Mmhm!" Karl said and tiptoed toward the bed, still smiling to himself as he slid under the covers.
But Adrian's eyes stayed open for a few more moments, staring at the ceiling.
"Why does his face look like someone just promised him a kingdom?" he whispered to himself.
Something was definitely up.
The next morning, Ruby checked out of the hotel and made sure to bring everyone a hearty breakfast. She didn't stop there—she also bought their favorite snacks, little things each of them liked, and even picked up some skincare items she thought they might need.
