Atticus and Sirona exchanged a wary look. It was clear that Daphne had suppressed the memories of her abduction to make it easier to cope, and telling her the truth about what had happened might cause her to faint from shock.

However, she needed to know. They could not leave her in ignorance, but they also could not bluntly tell her that she had incinerated men. Sirona furrowed her brow, thinking about how to break the news more gently, but Atticus interrupted.

"Sunshine, do you want to hear the good news or the bad news first?"

"What?" Daphne blinked, confused. "What news?"

"I have good news for you," Atticus said with a smile. "You're no longer the only member of Reaweth royalty without magic!"

Sirona put down her bowl and walked over to Atticus, giving him a light slap on the head.

"You fool!" Sirona hissed. "This is no joking matter."

Surprise etched Daphne's face, which quickly turned into an expression of hurt.
