28. The Next in Line

"Vivian…" Max asked, " you scared me."

"Hi! Looking for Crystal?" Vivian laughed.

"How do you know?" Max looked at her face, completely dark with the darkness around. Her lips shone in the little light from a distant streetlight.

"How about we talk elsewhere?" Max said, hurried, anxious waiting to hear her.

Vivian scoffed. "You all men are the same. All of you."

Max held her wrist dragging, Vivian jittered her hand free, "I wonder if you ever had feelings for me or just used me as a substitute for Crystal."

"Vivian…" Max wanted to twist the information out of her however she was too precious for him at the moment.

"Anyways, I know where she is." Vivian said, her tears glistening as they gradually shifted in more light.

"How? I mean Where? Shall we go now? Is she, like can we go—?" Max was being impatient, listening to her voice had made him miss her even more.
