Chance to Live Again in Another World?

Inside a luxurious room, a young man is lying motionless on a bed for almost a year now.

As the ray of sunshine graces gently inside the room, footsteps can be heard nearing toward his room.

Click.

The door opened and a sophisticated handsome man in his early-twenties entered with a solemn look on his face while carrying a basin filled with water and a towel.

He walks toward the bed and places the basin on top of the bedside table.

As he sat on the chair beside the bed, he sighed as he stared at the comatose young man on the bed.

The young man's face is small and gentle looking for a man with an age of seventeen years old.

"Yoyo …"

As the man utters the name of his comatose younger brother, he reaches his hand towards him and caresses his face.

He noticed his brother's paleness, making him feel like his heart is being torn apart.

He then grabbed the towel and soaked it in the water inside the basin before wringing it.

He gently held his brother's arm and wiped it softly with the wet towel.

As he did that, a knock came from the door before it opened.

"Young Master Alden … you have a schedule for meeting with a business partner in two hours."

The sophisticated handsome man, Alden, nodded his head at his secretary who was standing outside the room with a tailored coat hanging in his arms.

Aside from him, his father, and their family doctor, only few individuals are permitted to step inside this room where his younger brother is.

It is to ensure the patient's safety while being comatose.

Alden looks at his watch before standing up.

He stared at his younger brother's face before leaning closer and planting a kiss on his forehead.

"It's already eleven months … please wake up now, my sweet little brother."

He softly whispered before standing up properly and leaving the room while carrying the basin and towel.

The door closes and the room is slowly being engulfed by silence with the footsteps outside becoming further.

At that moment.

A soft sound came out from the mouth of the unconscious young man.

After a few seconds, his long eyelashes fluttered before his eyes slowly opened, revealing an enchanting brown irises encapsulated in his almond shaped eyes.

Antonio slowly got up from his lying position and sat on the bed, looking around the unfamiliar room.

As he did that, confusion filled his mind.

'Where the hell am I?'

But before he could find the answer to that question, his eyes darted toward his hand.

Small … smooth.

"What the—"

He immediately got out from the bed and ran towards the cheval mirror positioned near the door of the room.

He stared at the beautiful young man reflected in the mirror.

"It's me."

He commented in a confused voice before realizing something more important as he continued to stare at himself in the mirror.

 '… on my teenage days?'

With the absurd age regression and the unfamiliar room in his sight, he can't help but formulate lots of questions in his mind.

"Right … this must be a dream haha."

He uttered while pinching his cheeks, and grimacing later on as he felt the pain vividly.

'No … this isn't real.'

He started doubting the strange feeling that everything around him is real.

"Wait … I should be already dead … right?"

He muttered while panning his reflection in the mirror, finally remembering that he just committed suicide.

And as he keeps on staring perplexingly at the mirror, he suddenly experiences a throbbing sensation in his head, making him unintentionally groan while holding his head and leaning on the wall.

"Ugh!"

Together with the throbbing pain, flashes of memories from the original owner of the body played nonstop in front of him.

It feels as if memories are being played in a cinema while he is the sole viewer of these memories.

For some reason, he felt odd while looking at the memories flooding to him.

As time passed by, the pain in his head subsided and the flashing of memories also died down.

He then stands properly before wiping the beads of sweat in his head as he starts organizing his thoughts.

'So, basically this isn't Philippines but they call this country Grand Ashia'

He slightly pursed his lips as he felt now like a character in a transmigration novel.

However, he just soon shrugged his shoulders as he doesn't care about his past life anymore.

'Hmm … this body is also named Antonio Christian Legaspi, the same name I have in my previous life.'

He then stride toward the mirror again and opened his mouth.

"To have the same face and name … what an eerie coincidence."

He softly said before pacing back and forth around the room.

'This body is of a seventeen year old … hmmm ... how young.'

His eyes stayed on a certain corner of the room before he stride toward that area.

In the corner of the room, a single family photo is being displayed on the shelf.

Antonio grabbed the photo frame and a small smile appeared on his lips as he stared at the happy smiles of the people inside the photograph.

"Dad … Brother … and Mom."

Inside the photo frame was a family picture with a seven-year-old Antonio being carried in the arms of a tall handsome man that looks to be in his late-twenties, and a twelve-year-old Alden beside a gorgeous woman that also looks like in her late-twenties.

Drops of tears started falling on the photo making him realize that he was already crying.

"It's the same."

The photo is a perfect copy of what he had in his last life.

It was the last photo he had with his family which was taken during his mother's birthday.

'In my previous life, after we took that picture in a studio, on our way back to the mansion, a car accident happened and only I survived.'

With a bitter feeling from the memories of his past life, he gently wiped the tears that fell in the picture frame then also wiped his face that was wet with his crying.

'I am glad that two of them are still alive in this life.'

When memories flashed on his mind earlier, he discovered that his brother and father are still alive in this world.

Unfortunately, his mother died in this world too but for a different reason than her death in his previous life.

In his past life, the absence of his family for over two decades of his life never made him numb of emotions.

Instead, loneliness continued to hunt him, making him grasp for any small amount of affection showered to him.

"If this is a chance given by the heavens for me to live again …"

He softly muttered as he touched the faces of the people in the picture.

'Then … I'll make sure to live happily … with my family this time.'

Antonio declared in his mind as he put the frame back on the shelf before looking at the calendar on top of the bedside table.

"February 3024."

That's the current month and year shown in the calendar being displayed in the room.

On each number of days in the calendar, a red x symbol was being marked starting from the number one until the number ten in the month of February.

Antonio flipped the calendar to reveal the previous month making him smile sadly.

All the days in the month of January were marked with the red x symbol.

He kept flipping the calendar and he keeps on seeing the whole month of December, November and the several previous months being fully marked with red x symbol.

He then stopped in the month of March, year 3023.

It was not fully marked with symbols of red x.

The red x started on March 3, 3023.

Antonio felt a chill run down his spine as he gazed at the date where the red mark started.

'March 3, 2030 ... I committed suicide on that day.'

He pauses for a while before starting to dig in the original owner of the body's memories.

But before he could probe into the memories, the right doorknob of the room's double door made a clicking sound.

Then the right door opened, revealing a middle-age tall man wearing a doctor's coat with a serious look on his face.

The person holding the doorknob takes a step inside the room but soon halted as he stared at the young man standing a few meters across from him.

"YOUNG MASTER YOYO!"

The middle-age doctor screamed in shock, unable to believe that his precious young master who has been unconscious for eleven months is finally awake, and is now standing in front of him.

Tears streaming down the doctor's face, he dashed towards Antonio who was just standing in the same position with an innocent face.

Antonio tried to delve in the body's memory and in just a millisecond, he already identified the man in front of him.

"Dr. Lordan!"

He sweetly smiled as he greeted their family doctor, who kneeled in front of him, and with a worried voice, asked him.

"I'm so glad you're finally awake, Young Master ... sob! You don't know how hard it is for the whole mansion without your bright smile ... sob."

The doctor wailed while hugging Antonio.

And like someone who just realized something very important …

Dr. Lordan gauges his heart condition through a stethoscope, and sighs in relief after finding it stable.

"Are you uncomfortable somewhere, Young Master?"

He seriously asked as he wiped his face and stood up while carefully observing Antonio's condition.

"No, I'm fine, doctor."

Antonio answered with an assuring smile on his face.

. . .

Inside a fancy car that resembles a Rolls-Royce Spectre, Alden, in his tailored business suit, is currently reading some reports about their businesses abroad.

He is now scheduled to have a meeting with one of their business partners in less than two hours.

As he turns over the next page, his phone suddenly starts to vibrate inside his pocket.

He immediately puts down the papers he is holding and reaches for his phone.

Only a few individuals have his contact number, so he wonders who could be calling him right now.

When he saw the caller ID, he immediately answered it without hesitating.

"Dr. Lordan?"

His voice is filled with worry and nervousness as he answers the doctor's call.

"Young Master Alden …"

Dr. Lordan's voice is slightly shaky and he seems to be out of breath, making Alden's worry increase.

As he was about to open his mouth to ask what happened, an unexpected piece of good news was delivered to him from the other line that made his heart thump loudly in his chest.

"Young Master Alden … Young Master Yoyo is already awake."

Dr. Lordan reported using his baritone and serious voice, ironic to his wailing and shrill scream earlier with Antonio.

Both the doctor and Alden remained silent for several seconds.

"… I see."

Alden breaks the silence after almost a minute and instantly ends the call.

He is happy … more than happy that his younger brother is finally awake.

It felt so good that butterflies seemed to be dancing inside his stomach and his heart making a somersault due to joy.

Yet, deep inside him, he can't help but be disappointed that he's not the one Antonio saw first when he woke up after a long time.

'I want to see him.'

He looked at his driver and said in an authoritative tone.

"Drive back home … quickly."

The driver made eye contact with him through the rear view mirror and bowed to him.

Just like that, without any question, the driver made a u-turn to go back to their residence.
