"Noah?" Ryan asked, his voice filled with suspicion. "What do you need him for?"

"It's just a personal matter," she said, her voice barely a whisper. "It's nothing deep."

Ryan looked at her, his eyes filled with confusion. "Nothing deep? What do you mean by that?" he asked, his voice growing firmer.

Suzy stood up, her eyes filled with defiance. "It's not something you should worry or concern yourself about," she said, her voice raised slightly.

Ryan knew that she was hiding something from him, but he also knew that he couldn't force her to tell him the truth. He sighed, his heart heavy with frustration.

"Have you forgotten that there's a murderer on the loose?" he asked, his voice filled with concern.

She nodded standing up straight trying to look fierce. "The more reason I need Noah's protection," she replied, her voice gaining an edge.
