Chapter [12]

Kuoh Academy

Kaito was walking through the school corridors, still trying to get used to his new appearance and the strange feeling of being both a devil and a fairy when he spotted his friend Hiro.

"Hey, Kaito!" Hiro called out, approaching quickly. "Man, did you cut your hair?"

Kaito smiled, relieved to realize that the magic really worked and his appearance didn't seem strange to others. "Ah, yes, decided to change it up a bit. What do you think?"

"It looks great," Hiro responded, giving him a light slap on the shoulder. "You look like a new man."

Hiro looked at Kaito with a twinkle in his eyes and a mischievous smile. "I have to admit, I'm jealous of your look now. Who knew a haircut could make such a difference?"

Kaito laughed, feeling more at ease. "Maybe you should cut your hair too, Hiro. Who knows, you might discover a model's face hidden there."

Hiro shook his head, laughing as well. "Ah, but I don't hide a model's face underneath my hair, nor do I have hair for that."

"Sure, sure," Kaito said, still smiling. "But it doesn't hurt to try, right?"

"I'll leave that to you, buddy," Hiro replied, still laughing. "But seriously, I'm happy for you. This change seems to have done you good."

Kaito noticed the sincerity in Hiro's words and felt grateful to have such a good friend. "Thanks, Hiro. It means a lot to hear that from you."

Before they could continue the conversation, Yura appeared, interrupting the moment with a serious expression. "Is the sentimental moment over? You two need to get to class before you're late."

Hiro turned to Yura, slightly bowing in an apologetic gesture. "Sorry, Yura-Senpai. We're going."

As Kaito looked at Yura, he realized she was also a devil. Instinctively, he released mana and began exerting pressure on her, without really understanding what he was doing. Yura was visibly nervous and paralyzed, her body tense under the sudden pressure.

Hiro, not realizing what was really happening, called to Kaito. "Come on, Kaito. We don't want trouble with the student council."

Hiro's voice brought Kaito back to reality, causing him to stop exerting pressure on Yura. Without further questioning, Hiro pulled Kaito toward the classroom, scolding him. "What are you doing staring down a member of the student council like that? Do you want to get in trouble?"

Kaito didn't answer, just followed Hiro in silence, still processing what had just happened. He had no intention of causing trouble, but something inside him had automatically reacted to the presence of another devil.

Meanwhile, Yura knelt on the ground, sweating and panting. "I need to inform the president as soon as possible," she muttered to herself, struggling to her feet. With trembling steps, she headed to the office of the student council president, determined to report the incident.

Kaito continued following Hiro through the school corridors, his mind still spinning with what had happened.

As they walked, Hiro looked at Kaito, concerned. "Are you okay? You seem a bit distant."

Kaito shook his head, trying to focus. "Yes, just a little distracted by all this."

As they arrived in the classroom, Kaito tried to concentrate on the lessons, but his mind kept returning to the incident with Yura. He knew he needed to talk to Rias about this and learn to better control his new abilities.

Meanwhile, Yura finally reached the office of the student council president, still shaken by what had happened. Upon entering, she was greeted by Sona, the president, who observed her with a worried expression.

"Yura, what happened?"

Yura took a deep breath, trying to calm herself before speaking. "Sona, something strange happened. I was in the corridor and I encountered Kaito. He... he exerted immense pressure on me, as if he were an extremely powerful devil."

Sona observed Yura, who was still trembling slightly.

"Calm down, Yura."

"Kaito is a new member of Rias's Peerage. I'll speak to Rias about this and ensure he receives appropriate punishment."

Despite the apparent calm, Sona hated when someone threatened her Peerage. She was already planning to charge Rias for explanations and appropriate punishment.

Yura, still nervous, tried to justify herself. "I was just doing my job as a member of the student council when he did that."

"I understand, Yura. And that's why he needs to be punished. As president of the student council, it's my responsibility to maintain order and justice."

Yura hesitated for a moment before speaking again. "Actually, there's no need to punish Kaito."

Sona frowned, surprised. "And why not?"

Yura blushed, averting her gaze. "It was scary, but... it was also manly. And I kind of liked it."

Sona sighed slightly, disappointed. "Yura, even so, he needs to be punished. And stop having those perverted thoughts."

Yura lowered her head, embarrassed. "Yes, president. Sorry."

Sona observed Yura for a moment before standing up. "I will speak with Rias now. Go back to your work and try to calm down."

Yura nodded and left the office, still flushed and embarrassed. Sona, meanwhile, left the office with a determined purpose. She needed to resolve this situation with Rias and ensure that Kaito learned to control his abilities.

Kaito entered the classroom and headed to his seat, trying to concentrate on the lessons. He sat down, placing his backpack next to his chair and picking up his materials. The teacher's words sounded distant as he tried to process what had happened with Yura and his new abilities as a devil and half-fairy.

While trying to focus on the subject, Kaito couldn't help but overhear his classmates' whispers. They seemed to revolve around his appearance.

"Have you seen Kaito? He looks so different!"

"Yes, he cut his hair. It looks great!"

"Not just the hair. It seems like he got more handsome out of nowhere."

Kaito felt slightly uncomfortable with the sudden attention but also relieved that no one suspected his true nature. He tried to pay attention to the teacher, trying to ignore the murmurs around him.

"So, as I was saying about the Industrial Revolution..." The teacher's voice continued, but Kaito found it hard to concentrate.

He sighed, lowering his eyes to his notebook and starting to take notes, albeit mechanically. Each word he wrote seemed to have no meaning, as if he were just filling the paper without really absorbing the information.

Glancing sideways, he noticed that some girls were looking at him, exchanging glances and giggles. Kaito quickly averted his gaze, feeling his face heat up. He wasn't used to so much attention, especially female attention.

"Hey, Kaito," Hiro whispered beside him, giving him a light nudge. "You're really drawing attention today."

Kaito just smiled back, trying to act casually. "Guess cutting my hair made more of a difference than I thought."

Hiro chuckled softly. "Definitely. You're looking like a movie star now."

Kaito shook his head, still trying to absorb everything. "Let's see how long this lasts."

What Kaito didn't know was that, as he tried to get used to his new reality, Nanami was not pleased with the attention he was receiving. Watching from afar, she felt a mix of jealousy and irritation at seeing so many girls interested in Kaito.

"Who do these girls think they are?" Nanami murmured to herself, her eyes fixed on Kaito. "They don't know he already has an owner."
