Chapter Seventy Three: Seeking For Help

Vulcan's POV

But how was I going to leave to get my phone?

Luckily, as if the universe was on my side, Mia slid out from wherever. My eyes darted toward her as she cradled Frederick at her side. I quickly glanced between them at the top of the stairs, then at Smith. He immediately urged me with his eyes.

I knew what to do. "Uhmm, Mia," I started to say, but I heard Smith click his teeth. He wanted me to be discreet, and I got the hint right away. I waved my hand subtly at my side to grab Mia's attention. She noticed and looked down at my hands. I signaled her with a hand gesture to come over.

She set Frederick down on his feet and was about to approach alone, but my plan needed Frederick too. I made another gesture, signaling her to bring him along, and smartly, she did just that. Once they reached me, I said aloud, "Mia, dear, could you get Grandpa a glass of water? I think he's developed a migraine."
