Masks and manipulations

MAX P.O.V

I was blindfolded and restrained, finds myself in the unfamiliar surroundings of the Eden residence. The blindfold obscures my vision, leaving me in a state of complete darkness. The sound of my own breathing echoes in my ears, the only sound in the otherwise eerily silent space. I strains my senses, trying to gather information about my surroundings, but the blindfolded state makes it difficult. Thoughts race through my mind, contemplating my situation and the unknown intentions of my captors.

As the blindfold is removed, I blinks rapidly, adjusting to the sudden flood of light assaulting my eyes. I rub my eyes, trying to focus on the figure before me. The unknown person, standing there with a menacing smile, finally speaks up, "looks like you're awake." It was professor Thompson I was surprised.

I was caught off guard by the sight of Professor Thompson, can't help but feel a mix of surprise and apprehension. I had anticipated many possible scenarios, but encountering Professor Thompson, a trusted figure, in such a menacing light was unexpected. I struggles to form words as I grapples with the sudden realization of my predicament.

With a cold, calculated expression, Professor Thompson raises a nearby rock, a sadistic glint in his eyes. I was caught off guard, can do nothing as I braces myself for the impending impact. Professor Thompson swings the rock forcefully, striking my sharply on the head. The blow is painful, leaving me dazed and vulnerable. My vision blurs momentarily, and I struggles to remain conscious.

Professor Thompson, the menacing figure from the shadows, emerges and grips by my hair, locking eyes with me. His tone is cold and menacing as he demands, "Do you want to live?" The question hangs in the air, filled with a sinister undercurrent. I was still reeling from the blow to my head, struggles to focus but recognizes the dire nature of the situation.

I plead for my life, weakly mutters, "I'll do anything just let me live..." My voice trembles with fear and anguish. Professor Thompson, enjoying the power and control over me, lets out a sinister laugh. He then throws me to the floor, and with a sadistic glee, stomps on my hand brutally. I screams in agony, the pain shooting up his arm. Before I can recover, Professor Thompson follows up by delivering a powerful kick to my mouth, sending me reeling.

Professor Thompson, a sinister smile playing on his lips, leans down towards me, who lies wounded on the floor. He gazes at him with a cold, calculating look and says in a dangerous whisper, "You'll do anything?" His words hang in the air, filled with implication and menace. I was battered and bruised, glances back at him, my mind racing with thoughts of survival. Whatever Professor Thompson wants, I fears I have no choice but to comply.

Professor Thompson, seeing me surprise at the unusual request, gives him an amused chuckle. "Steal Lucas' girlfriend," he said with a sinister tone. My eyes widen in shock, taken aback by the unexpected demand. I hesitates for a moment, clearly uncomfortable with the idea. Before I can respond, Professor Thompson interrupts me, landing another smacking blow to my already bruised body. A sadistic satisfaction crosses his face as I struggles to maintain consciousness.

I was still reeling from the blow, grits his teeth and defiantly says, "I won't be doing that for my best friend! Even if you kill me, I won't be doing that!" My voice carries a mixture of defiance and loyalty, even in the face of the intimidating Professor Thompson. I struggles to maintain eye contact, my gaze filled with determination.

Seeing my defiance, Professor Thompson's demeanor shifts from sadistic to cold and calculating. He narrows his eyes and leans in closer, a sinister edge in his voice. "Your refusal won't save you or your family," he threatens, his words heavy with menace. "One word from me, and your loved ones will suffer. Your choice, Max." The weight of his threat hangs in the air, leaving me with a choice between betrayal and the safety of my family.

My mind racing with worry for my family's safety, squeezes my fists tight. Reluctantly, I realizes that I have no choice. With a heavy heart, I grits my teeth and reluctantly nods. "I'll do it," I says through clenched teeth, my voice laced with bitterness. Despite my misgivings, I know I must protect my loved ones. My expression remains tense, my grip on my fist betraying the internal turmoil I feel.

Professor Thompson, a sadistic smile creeping across his face, leans in close and says, "And don't tell anyone that I was the one who brought you here, understand?" I was filled with fear, nods weakly, my gaze avoiding the piercing eyes of Professor Thompson. Shortly after, Professor Thompson calls his fellow alliance members, the sadistic joy gleaming in their eyes. I braces myself, knowing the pain that awaits me as the torment and suffering begins.

I was battered and wounded from the brutal abuse, is thrown out of the Eden residence, landing in a bush nearby. I lies there, barely conscious, my body battered and marred with injuries. My breathing is shallow, and my eyes flutter weakly. Suddenly, Lucas, out on a search for me, discovers me, lying wounded and alone in the bush. Lucas's eyes widen in shock and concern as he rushed towards my side.

"Max!" he exclaims, dropping to his knees beside me, his wounded friend.

AT THE HOSPITAL I saw Lucas entering the room, "Lucas... you're here," I weakly say with a smile and I watched Lucas approached me and sat down. "What happened? Can you remember anything?"

"I don't know..." I replied, my voice filled with frustration and exhaustion. "I remember collapsing and waking up tied up in a chair with a blindfold, but bro, the man who took me sounded like a creepy guy. His voice was deep, and he sounded muscular, cool right?"

Lucas couldn't help but let out a light chuckle at my comment. Rolling his eyes playfully, he grabbed my arm and gave it a teasing pinch. "Yeah, real cool, Max," he said, his tone dripping with sarcasm. Despite the gravity of the situation.
