"Trading a ham for a dog's life."

"Woof woof~"

The vicious dog behind me kept barking loudly, its front paws kicking my back incessantly. The dogs in the two adjacent cages were also going berserk, roaring at me furiously. If they were let out, I wouldn't doubt for a second that they'd tear me to shreds.

The sun was scorching today, leaving me dizzy. Thankfully, the afternoon sunlight was blocked by the building, making it somewhat bearable. I was tired, hungry, and thirsty, plus maintaining this position all day had made my limbs numb, my blood circulation stagnant, and I was utterly exhausted.

And this vicious dog, no one had come to feed it all day, so it was barking even louder now. My ears were almost deafened by its howling.

Finally, when evening came, the dog, exhausted from hunger, stopped barking and just lay there, glaring at me fiercely.

At least it had been fed raw meat by Chen Weiqiang in the morning, but I hadn't eaten or drunk anything all day, and I couldn't hold on much longer.

Just as I was about to shift my limbs to alleviate the numbness, the damn dog started barking again, and I had no idea where it got the energy from.

"If you bark again, I'll kill you!" I lost my patience, glaring fiercely at it and shouting angrily.

The dog hesitated for a moment, then resumed barking even louder than before.

Enough was enough. If it kept this up, I'd be dead before the midnight uprising.

No, I couldn't just sit and wait for death. I needed to find a way to deal with this vicious dog and then break the lock to escape.

After dark, the lackeys wouldn't come over here for patrol. Besides, no one had ever successfully escaped from the dog cage. So, they wouldn't bother checking here.

That was one of the reasons I was waiting until nighttime to make my move.

The damn dog kept barking incessantly, and I felt like its collar was about to snap.

If it attacked me first, I'd definitely be at a disadvantage, especially with my height making movement difficult.

I took a moment to rest my limbs, then reached into my pocket and pulled out the corn-flavored ham sausage that the woman had given me.

The medium-sized cafeteria's ham sausage weighed half a pound each, enough to catch a vicious dog's attention.

"Hey, you, stop barking. I'll give you this sausage. Deal?" I tore open the packaging with my mouth and waved the fragrant sausage in front of the dog.

"Woof woof woof!"

The vicious dog, upon seeing the food, perked up immediately, showing its teeth and continuing to bark at me.

Its drool, foul and abundant, was almost forming a small puddle on the ground.

"When you stop barking, I'll give it to you! Hey, you, in the cage opposite, want some? Come out, and I'll feed you too!" I shouted at the two dogs in the neighboring cages.

"Woof woof woof!"

The barking became deafening, but that was exactly what I wanted. I wanted the lackeys to think I was being mauled while waiting for the vicious dog to tire itself out.

Then, I could strike.

After a while, the vicious dog behind me finally wore itself out and sat down, glaring at me with bloodshot eyes, as if to say it would eat me as soon as it had the strength.

"Watch carefully. This is pork ham sausage, very delicious!" I slowly turned around, raised the sausage, and caught its attention.

The vicious dog stopped barking upon hearing the word "meat" but stared eagerly at the sausage, its eyes following the "meat" as I moved it.

"Here you go!" I broke off a piece and threw it on the ground. It swallowed it in one gulp, not even bothering to chew properly.

Then it spun around, growled at me, and sat down to stare at the "meat" again.

This beast was truly hungry and knew it had to behave to get some meat.

Its small eyes were rolling, probably thinking that once it finished eating, it would have the strength to devour me.

While it was calm for a minute, I quickly concentrated my energy.

As anyone who's practiced martial arts from a young age knows, one must focus on the lower abdomen and eliminate all distractions before delivering a decisive blow. This kind of explosive power could incapacitate even someone with better skills than mine.

I didn't speak, afraid to ruin the moment. I just stared calmly at the vicious dog, then broke the sausage in my hand and threw it beside it.

The dog immediately turned to grab the sausage on the ground.

I took advantage of those three seconds while it turned around to pounce on it, grabbing its neck and pressing down on its head with all my strength while squeezing it through the gap in the iron bars.

I made sure it couldn't breathe or move.

"Phew~"

The vicious dog didn't expect my sudden attack, vomiting up the sausage in its mouth and struggling frantically, trying to turn its head to bite me.

"Woof woof woof!"

The two dogs in the cages next to me saw what happened and started barking wildly.

But it was no use. The lackeys would think they just wanted to eat me, and they were hungry from all the barking.

This damn dog, over a hundred pounds of weight, was a real challenge. If it weren't for my martial arts training, I wouldn't have stood a chance.

You see, in a furious state, a large dog's explosive and biting power is tremendous. It could kill a young, healthy man in just a few minutes. If it were a trained attack dog, it could bite down on a lethal spot on an adult, not letting go until the person died.

That's why police and military dogs are trained to bite only the arm during training.

"You damn dog, just die already! If you don't die, I'll kill you!" I pressed my left leg against its hindquarters, my right knee against its chest and front legs, and tightly gripped its neck with both hands.

It struggled for a few minutes, but it was no match for me.

Finally, when I was drenched in sweat and utterly exhausted, the vicious dog stopped breathing, tongue hanging out, lying motionless on the ground.

Blood was flowing from its mouth.

I had crushed its internal organs, hastening its death.

Simply choking it wouldn't work, as it would shake its head and break free unless the opponent was over five hundred pounds, directly overpowering it with weight.

"Phew"

I released my grip, slumping onto the dead dog and gasping for air.

Thank goodness for my brother, who had taken me to his master's house to learn martial arts since I was young. Otherwise, I'd be done for here.

"Woof woof woof!"

The two vicious dogs in the neighboring cages saw that I had killed their companion and started barking furiously.

But still, no one came to check.

As long as the dogs were barking, no one would come for a patrol.

Thankfully, Uncle Scar and Sister Dinosaur weren't here, or things would've been even more dire.

At least Sister Dinosaur would've been bitten to death.

But with her height
