Don't eat his tricks

I picked up the expired Old Temple Sauerkraut instant noodles that had been stepped on by a scruffy giant, and headed towards the crocodile pond.

"Splash!"

I tossed the whole box into the midst of the crocodiles still snapping their jaws for food.

Seeing a target fall into the water, these cold-blooded creatures immediately swarmed, tearing the instant noodles to shreds within moments...

"Bro, doing this will get you in trouble with them," Screwdriver stood up, quietly warning as the lackeys approached.

"No worries. This trash isn't even fit for dogs; it's only good for feeding crocodiles."

I chuckled, patting Eight One on the back, and we walked towards the dormitory building.

He had won a match today, so he had a day off.

Naturally, no one cared where he went, let alone his well-being.

"Chinese friend..."

It turned out to be Abu with a few lackeys. Seeing it was me who threw away the instant noodles, he shook his head and gave up.

"Eight One, give Brother Bu and them some cigarettes. Thanks."

I drawled, having him take out a pack of Furongwang from my pocket and distribute them to Abu and his crew.

Since my widely-publicized takedown of Paisun at the cafeteria yesterday, the lackeys in the park were a bit afraid to see me.

If they were lackeys, then I was the mad dog in their eyes.

Anyone who provokes me, I'll take them down.

So, none of them wanted to interact with me; when they saw me, they pretended not to and walked around.

I...

Well, it's better this way. Peace and quiet.

"Screwdriver, go do your thing. I'll come to the dorm later to find you guys, thanks."

Abu took the cigarettes and left with the other lackeys after a few words.

This "harmonious" scene left Screwdriver staring blankly.

"Eight One, take your Screwdriver brother to my dorm to treat his wounds."

I looked at Abu's figure, a smirk on my face.

"Sure thing, bro."

Eight One readily agreed, and with Screwdriver looking bewildered, headed towards the dormitory building.

I followed behind them, thinking about Chen Weiqiang's safety.

Soon, we were back at my single dormitory.

As soon as we entered, Screwdriver was stunned.

"My god, buddy, where did you get all these snacks from..."

Screwdriver's mouth hung open, his jaw almost hitting the floor.

"Professor Ace rewarded me, including letting me stay here."

I had Eight One take out alcohol, painkillers, and antibiotics to clean his wounds, apply the medicine, and take the medication.

His palms and knees were like "hornet nests" pierced by those damned tacks.

More painful than sticking needles under my fingernails.

I respected him as a man, taking the risk to have Eight One bring him to the dorm for treatment.

Never thought my small act would save my life in the future.

And Screwdriver became my life and death brother...

"Knock knock knock"

The sudden knocking interrupted our conversation.

"You go open the door."

I had Eight One open the door, then told Screwdriver to hide in the bathroom.

The door opened, and it turned out to be Abu, saying Professor Ace had brought someone over and asked me to come to Liu Shiyi's office.

He wanted to come in and sit for a while, but I was afraid he would find Screwdriver, so I dragged him along to go with me.

"Little Bottle, you're really lucky. You can even walk away unscathed after killing that dog Paisun."

Abu said as we walked.

Judging by his expression, he probably didn't like Paisun either.

"It's not just luck; it's about value. I'm afraid once the Mid-Autumn Festival match is over, Liu Shiyi will throw me into the Mekong River to feed the crocodiles."

I sighed, not hiding my worries.

"You killed Paisun to prove your strength. I bet on you."

"Paisun is a beast who often bullies us with his kung fu skills. He even wanted my sister to accompany him. Thanks to you killing him, otherwise my sister would have been in trouble."

Abu spat angrily.

"He's done so much evil; he deserved to die. But I think the ones who deserve to die even more are Liu Shiyi and the big bosses behind him..."

I paused, stopped walking, and looked at Abu seriously.

"Abu, would you tell Liu Shiyi what you just said?"

Abu looked into my eyes, frowned.

"Don't you trust me?"

"Yeah, because I've been betrayed by someone I thought I could trust. So, forgive me for being direct."

"Chinese friend, you misunderstand me. I had no choice but to work here. I really don't want to associate with them."

"I've been working here for three years, and the person I admire most is Wrench, and the person I trust the most is him."

"Before, maybe I still had some scruples, but since that time Liu Shiyi secretly tested you and Wrench, I gave up completely."

"You're Wrench's brother, so you're my brother, too. A trustworthy Chinese brother like Wrench."

Abu's tone was sincere, his eyes genuine, not like he was lying.

Because Wrench had told me before that Abu and he were closest in the kk park.

So, I trusted him implicitly.

"Good brother, we'll talk more later. I'm going to Liu Shiyi's office to see Professor Ace."

I cut him off, patted his shoulder, and turned to run towards Liu Shiyi's office.

Leaving Abu, lost in thought in the wind...

Even so, I still need to test Abu, ensure I can fully win him over, before he can join our team.

This way, I can be sure everything goes smoothly.

Even if I don't live past the Mid-Autumn Festival, I won't involve Qiangzi, Wrench, Eight One, or Screwdriver.

As for Screwdriver, I'll bring him into the fold when we return to the dorm.

If he hesitates even for a moment, I'll send him away immediately.

Never again will I blindly trust anyone without boundaries.

"Professor Ace has been waiting for you for a long time, something seems wrong, be careful."

Just as I reached the office door, Wrench grabbed me and reminded me earnestly.

I nodded, knocked on the door, and went in.

In the luxurious office, Liu Shiyi and the cunning old fox Professor Ace sat face to face, sipping tea and chatting comfortably.

Chen Weiqiang stood beside them, looking worn out, at their beck and call.

Their respective black bodyguards stood alertly around them, ready to protect.

"Professor Ace..."

I walked up beside him, holding up my hands like dumplings, weakly calling out.

Pretending to be pitiful, who wouldn't?

Even though I knew they had their interests, I still wanted to sow discord whenever I could.

"...", a smile gathered on Professor Ace's face.

He paused for a full two seconds before sneering at Liu Shiyi, "Director Liu, I entrust my proud student to you, and this is how you take care of him?"

"Professor, you don't know. This kid is unruly. He dared to publicly kill my top bodyguard Paisun."

"Professor, you don't know. This kid is unruly. He dared to publicly kill my top bodyguard Paisun."

"You don't know. This kid is unruly. He dared to publicly kill my top bodyguard Paisun. You don't know. You don't."
