Kill the dog to warn Yang

Even if I get anxious, it won't help. I might as well eat and drink well, calm my mind, and face the Mid-Autumn Festival battle with a fresh attitude.

Surely, the other side will study my martial arts after seeing my video defeating Paton. What I need to do is innovate quickly and catch them off guard.

"Ping An, what are you thinking about? Hurry up and finish eating so we can go back to the dorm and change your bandages!"

Chen Weiqiang poked the back of my head and tapped his empty plate with his chopsticks. He had just closed a big deal with Professor Ace, which filled his wallet and allowed him to spend money on my treatment.

Then, he bought some good food for me from the town because his hands were itching to do something nice.

This made me eat non-stop all day, as if I couldn't keep my mouth idle.

"Yeah, I know," I snapped out of my thoughts, took a couple of bites, but lost my appetite thinking about Yang Lianting torturing that girl. I put down my spoon and decided I didn't want to eat anymore.

"From today, no more snacks. You need proper meals. How can you go on without eating real food?"

Chen Weiqiang grabbed me and nagged like a mother.

"Wasn't it you who got Professor Ace to buy the snacks? Why blame me now? Besides, if I don't eat them now, I might never get the chance to..."

"Shut up! Don't talk nonsense! If you lose, I'll have Grandmaster Chen expel you from the Taiji Sect when I return home. I'll even have 'sinner' engraved on your tombstone!"

"What? How would I be a sinner?"

"Failing to defeat a black-market fighter and embarrassing the Taiji Sect abroad—if that's not a disgrace to Chinese martial arts, what is?"

Damn, he made a good point, and I had no comeback.

Feeling wronged, I looked at Wrench.

"Alright, Chen Assistant, don't scold him. Let's go back to the dorm and change his bandages. The first step is to keep a positive mindset."

Wrench held back a laugh as he and Baji and Screwdriver stood up. We all headed out of the restaurant together.

Just outside, we were blocked by seven or eight tall, fierce-looking men.

"???"

We were all puzzled: who knew these people?

"Mad Dog, what's the meaning of this?" Screwdriver asked angrily, stepping forward.

These were his cronies from his old park, Yang Lianting's close confidants. After their boss fled, the park was bought by Boss Ning and merged with ours, making them Ning's property.

Naturally, anyone with some guts and brains would be unhappy and look to fight Liu Shiyi's security team to establish dominance.

But why did they seem so clueless? Didn't they ask around first?

Or had people forgotten what I looked like because I hadn't killed anyone in a while?

"You guys go back and change the bandages," Wrench said, noticing my eagerness to watch the scene, and had Baji escort me back to the dorm.

"Oh, suddenly I can't walk. How about you carry me?" I said playfully, hanging onto Baji's shoulder, trying not to laugh.

"I'll smack you!" Wrench warned, raising his hand in mock anger.

"Think you can leave? None of you are going anywhere! Liu Shiyi's lackeys are nothing but ugly rejects!" Mad Dog spat, towering over us with his burly frame.

He had thick eyebrows, triangular eyes, and a thick, jutting mouth—truly hideous.

Damn, he had the nerve to call us ugly? Was he jealous of our good looks?

The other six cronies were equally shady-looking, their bodies tough and muscular, unlike us.

Except for Baji, who could match their build.

The rest of us—Wrench, Screwdriver, and I—were lean but muscular underneath our clothes. Chen Weiqiang looked more like a "refined scoundrel."

At first glance, we probably didn't seem threatening.

"Go look in the mirror. You look like a ghost, and you dare mock our handsome faces. Are you blind?" Baji snapped back, his temper flaring.

Mad Dog's eyebrows twitched in anger. "Who are you calling?"

"I'm calling you a dog!"

"Damn it, you're dead! Today, I'll teach you how to be proper dogs for Yang Supervisor. Let's see if he dares to protect you tomorrow when he officially takes over."

Mad Dog's group had their AKs confiscated by Liu Shiyi. The reason was obvious to anyone with a bit of sense.

"Yang Lianting is nothing! He's not even worthy to polish our supervisor's shoes."

Wrench sneered, poking Mad Dog's chest with his AK, making him step back.

I wondered why Wrench suddenly defended Liu Shiyi, then saw Liu Shiyi himself approaching with Ma Dinglun.

"Got guts? Try fighting without a gun. Liu Shiyi's dogs are just bullies," Mad Dog challenged.

"Liu Shiyi is..." Wrench smashed the butt of his gun into Mad Dog's forehead, making him bleed. Then he kicked another crony, sending him flying.

In an instant, two were down, intimidating the rest of Yang Lianting's men.

"Supervisor, they started it, trying to intimidate us and calling us ugly. They said you're blind for keeping us..."

I was stunned by Baji's snitching skills. Liu Shiyi loved this kind of talk.

He valued appearance highly and hated being called names or having his lackeys insulted.

Seeing Liu Shiyi's increasingly dark expression, Baji continued to fabricate: "Mad Dog even said he'd put you in your place, make us beg for mercy, and give his supervisor some face..."

"Enough!" Liu Shiyi interrupted angrily. "Wrench, tie up this dog. I'll kill him to send a message to Yang!"

"Understood!"

Wrench dragged Mad Dog up, twisting his arms behind his back and pushing him towards Liu Shiyi.

"What a joke, Yang Lianting thinks he can be my equal. He's dreaming! Today, I'll start with you and see if he dares protect you!"

Liu Shiyi slapped Mad Dog hard, making him see stars.

Dumb move, picking us to mess with.

Not even the king of hell could save him now.

"Liu Shiyi, you're a scumbag. Everyone knows you're bent by your lackey, Wrench. You can't 'attack' now, right? You're just a glass-hearted, useless eunuch..."
