He disappeared

Yang Lianting was very familiar with these gossip stories and told me many tales about the Fuzhou Gang, including some insider news about the Northern Burma big shots. This gave me a deeper understanding of these scumbags, making me realize how difficult it would be to deal with Lulu, that wretched woman. For now, I couldn't afford to think about killing Lulu. The most important thing was to win the upcoming fight and stay alive so I could have a chance at revenge.

We chatted idly and soon arrived at the KK Park. Because we had killed Boss Cai, the perimeter was full of patrolling soldiers and various big guard dogs. Especially on the way here, I saw many Karen border guards patrolling the forest in their vehicles. Actually, I preferred to call them bandit soldiers. In my heart, Chinese soldiers were the most admirable people in the world. Yang Lianting wasn't exaggerating; if I tried to escape, I wouldn't make it 20 kilometers before being shot dead.

Once the Mercedes drove into the park, it stopped in a blind spot of the surveillance cameras, and both Screwdriver and I got out of the car. Yang shamelessly smiled and asked, "Wanna come to my dorm for a drink?"

"No, thanks. Just remember to bring something for me tomorrow at work," I replied disdainfully and ran towards my three-person dorm with Screwdriver. But as luck would have it, something unexpected happened.

Just as we reached the dormitory building, I saw two sneaky figures walking past the greenbelt. "Damn, who's still up this late? Should we follow them?" Screwdriver seemed very interested in those two shadows. I thought carefully, and the figure of one of the men looked a lot like Evil Lu. "Sure!"

We quickly agreed and followed the two figures, keeping a safe distance of several meters. Screwdriver was excellent at tracking and counter-surveillance. In no time, the two figures reached the burial area behind the park. I had never been to KK Park's burial area; last time, I went to the burial area outside the park. During the day, the forest filled with corpses was already terrifying, let alone in the middle of the night. If it weren't for Screwdriver, I would have been scared out of my wits.

As we approached the dense bamboo forest, I felt a chill all over my body, always feeling like someone was following us or watching from the darkness. The cold wind rustled the bamboo leaves, and crows cawed eerily overhead, creating a horrifying illusion of ghosts wandering at night. If there really were vengeful spirits in the world, there wouldn't be any evildoers. Even if the innocent souls of these "piglets" lingered, they would fear these bastards because they were more terrifying than ghosts and a thousand times more vicious than demons.

The thought made anger replace my fear. The cold moonlight shone on the green bamboo forest, and although I couldn't see the entire burial area, I could smell the pungent stench of blood, rot, and decay. Each additional second of smelling it made me dizzy and nauseous.

Screwdriver, staring at the two people not far away, whispered, "They've stopped and seem to be digging something." Holding my breath, I looked up and saw the two figures digging a hole, seemingly trying to bury something. The bamboo forest was so dense that it cast large shadows, making it impossible to see what was on the ground. However, I distinctly heard a faint moan, which then stopped.

Were they burying someone? Or was someone already buried here, waiting to die? But why would Evil Lu come in the middle of the night to speed up his death? I couldn't figure it out, and Screwdriver was even more puzzled. He had joined KK Park later than I did and didn't know as much. After about fifteen minutes, Evil Lu and his henchman sneaked down the mountain. The surroundings returned to quietness, except for occasional bird calls and the rustling of the wind through the bamboo leaves, which grew more terrifying the longer I listened.

"Let's go," I said, tugging at Screwdriver squatting behind the dirt mound, eager to leave this ghostly place. Screwdriver, ignoring my reluctance, grabbed me and ran ahead. "I want to see what they buried."

"..." Reluctantly, I followed him, praying not to see anything horrifying. "Are you scared? It's such a contrast, you being afraid of the dark. Haha!" Screwdriver, showing his bravery, pretended to scare me. "Hurry up, big brother. Check it out quickly so no one finds us," I said, trying to stay calm.

"Alright, alright, you keep watch while I dig," Screwdriver said, resuming his serious demeanor. I kept watch while he dug up what Evil Lu had buried. Since Evil Lu had buried it in a hurry and the soil was freshly turned, Screwdriver dug quickly. In less than five minutes, he unearthed the buried object. Just then, the moon emerged from behind the clouds, illuminating the area, and I saw a ghastly severed head.

"Ugh!" I vomited everything I had eaten earlier in town. "Damn, this is so vile!" Screwdriver was also shocked, throwing dirt back onto the head. "Wait!" I stopped him, suppressing my nausea. "Why?" "I want to see who it is."

"Alright, I'll do the dirty work and dig it out for you." "..." I had to thank him for being so considerate. Without hesitation, Screwdriver dug out the body and laid it on the ground. The freshly killed body didn't yet reek of decay but looked gruesomely mutilated, filling the air with a sense of resentment and blood. If the corpse suddenly came back to life, I would be scared to death. The corpse's hands and feet were bound with tape, nails missing, pants stained with blood, and the shirtless torso covered in bruises and wounds. The head had no visible injuries, but the eyes were gouged out, ears cut off, and the mouth was bloodied, missing its tongue and teeth.

It was clear that the victim had been tortured terribly before death. When he was near death, they brought him here to be buried alive, leaving only his head above ground. Why had Evil Lu come back to bury the head? To hide something? "Sigh!" Unable to bear it, I turned away and choked out, "I know who it is. Cover him up."

"Who?" Screwdriver asked, putting the corpse back into the hole and covering it with soil. "It's the leader of my group. He's been killed." No wonder I hadn't seen him at work recently. Yesterday, Fatty and I had lamented his sudden disappearance. I didn't expect Evil Lu to have buried him here. "What? Even a group leader can get killed..." Screwdriver, a former soldier with a strong sense of justice, couldn't comprehend such evil. Before being tricked into coming here, I had also naively believed in trust and kindness between people.

Picking up a rock, I placed it on the mound, "Even as a supervisor, there's a risk of being killed. Otherwise, why would Liu Shiyi have so many bodyguards?"

"Damn, that's inhumane. Let's get out of here!" Screwdriver, silent for a moment, patted the dirt off his hands and pulled me out of the bamboo forest.
