Mate....s

Ralph's POV

There are things that can never change in life no matter how hard you try to change them. All this while life has been nothing but cruel to me. No one really wanted me,not even my own parents nor twin brother hence,I spent my life keeping a safe distance from them. At first they all ignored me.... Forgive my manners,my name is Ralph Quincy Ortiz. I'm a Werewolf which means I'm half human, half wolf. Awesome,right? Well for me it's not. Fine, being a Werewolf is fun and all however when you are hated all your life by the people who are supposed to love you, it hurts like shit.... My thoughts were interrupted by Will, one of my Pack warriors.

Will:(in a panic tone) Alpha,we have a situation at the South boarder .

Ralph:(grunted)What is it at this time of the night?

Will:Two humans are on our land and they're heading straight for our South boarder.

Ralph:(Growled) What! Humans can't cross the protective barrier between our world and theirs!

I couldn't help but be surprised,humans don't know about our existence because there is an invincible protective barrier between the human world and the supernatural world, and no human can ever cross that protective shield. No human ever could until tonight... Who are those two and what are they doing here?My wolf began howling and pacing around in my head which I found weird since he's been quite for almost a year now.

Ralph:(Mindlink) Hey, Elvis, what's wrong?(worried).

Elvis:(huffed) Not sure,Ral. I just feel like something big is going to happen. We need to go check out the situation at the boarder.

Ralph:Ok ,I'm fine with that.

Werewolves can talk with each other through mindlink. We can also link our Pack members, family and mates..... That's a story for another day. Anyways,I note that as I dropped the dagger I was going to use to kill myself.... Yep! You heard right,I'm so sick of being tortured by my own family,tired of being mocked and tired of life. I wanted it to end but before I could kill myself however,as you can see,that didn't work out well. Sighing I Sprint out of my room,down the flight of steps and burst out of my mansion. Using my wolf speed I manage to reach the South boarder in 19 seconds. I could feel Elvis getting more antsy by the second and when we arrived we took one look at the warriors who held two people roughly trying to stop them from escaping. Shifting to my human form,I put on the shorts that Will handed me,lift my nose in the air and inhaled deeply only to catch two of the most amazing scents I've ever smelt in my life. One was the smell of red roses and strawberries while the other was blueberries and orchids. Damn! My eyes wander around in search of the owner of these scents only to stop dead at the two humans held by my warriors. Both of them were staring back at me curiously and then my world stopped when Elvis decided to speak the one word I never thought I'd ever hear him say again.

Elvis:(Growled)Mates!!!!!

I have a mate? Wait! What?! Did he just say "mates" but how? How can I have another mate let alone two? My eyes nearly dropped off their sockets which confused everyone except my mates who were just lost in staring at me. Not only are they humans,they happen to be a boy and girl too.

What now? Will they reject me? No one has ever wanted me so why would they? Elvis begins to whimper at the thought of our mates rejecting us... I must've been lost in my thoughts a lot since I don't know when or how my mates managed to free themselves from my warriors' grasps and walk over to me. The girl wiped the tears that I didn't know were trailing down my cheeks. Hell! Since when did I start to cry?

Girl: it's ok,don't cry (she soothed).

Man: What's wrong?

The care in their eyes and voices broke all the odds and I just hug them both tightly not caring about where we were. I didn't care if my warriors think I'm a weak Alpha. I just care about my mates so I hugged them, buried my nose in their necks and sniffed deeply. Elvis sighed in satisfaction when our mates hugged us back gentle.

Man: It's ok (kissed his hair) ,calm down.

Ralph: P-please, d-don't l-leave me ( he begged).

Woman: We're not going anywhere.

Will:(Smiled at them) Your mates?( He linked).

Ralph:(nodded at him) Yes. It's ok, I'll handle it from here.

Will: Of course,you will. As much as I love seeing Elvis, please be careful next time before you shift.

Ralph: Sorry,we were worried....

Zion: That's understandable, however,don't forget that we are the only 5 who know that you have a wolf. The others think you are human ( Ralph cut the link).

Kira: We don't want you to get hurt and if your family finds out about Elvis...(she whispered softly so only he could hear).

The thought of them finding out about Elvis made me tense and a sudden fear gripped me. My chest heaved,knowing they will kill him if they know and I can't lose my wolf....he has always been there for me, trying his best to save me from the pain my father's and other Pack members' beatings ...

Will: (Held his shoulder) Ral,calm down, your family won't hurt him. We'll make sure of that.

Woman:(frowned) Why is he so scared of his own family?

Zion:(clenched his jaw) Family,they don't deserve to be called family...

Kira:(Growled) They're demons, that's who they are.

Man:Hmm. Well,we are here now and no one will hurt him ever again.

Kira:(smiled) I like your confidence but I'm afraid you won't be able to do anything.

Man:(Smirked) We'll see. Let them try and lay a finger on him then you'll see what I do to them, aren't that right,Sis?

Girl:Yes.

Ralph:(stared at them) You two are siblings?

Girl:Twins, we're identical twins.

Will:(shocked) What! I've never heard of identical twins with different genders before!(he exclaimed).

Girl:(shrugged) There never were, we are the first ones and the only ones so far which is one of the reasons we're being hunted by a group of evil scientists who wants to experiment on us.

I couldn't help the furious growl that escaped my lips at the thought of someone hurting my mates. Now that I look at them clearly,they do look the same snow white,waist length hair. Thick white eyebrows, startling blue eyes,red cherry lips that makes me want to kiss them....Damn! Where did that come from?

Elvis:(chuckled) You're asking me?

Ralph:Do you know anything about this? I mean us having second chance mates? It's rare to find a second chance mate and I've been given two, why?

Elvis:I think it's because they're identical twins.

Ralph: Maybe...I just can't believe they are different genders yet they look so similar.

Elvis:Yeah. You wouldn't be able turn them apart if they were the same gender.

He's right, you'd think since the other one is a girl so she'll be smaller or more petite however,they both are the same height. Same broad shoulders with some muscles...they aren't as big as mine but they do have pretty sexy muscles that makes me want to run my hands all over them. Chiselled jaws,sharp white teeth,they both are wearing small silver earrings on their ears and noses. Clad in black jeans, black vests and leather coats that touch down their ankles. Two black backpacks, they're also wearing black boots....

Sophie:Ral!

Ralph: Huh?(looked at her)

Sophie:(giggled) Did you even hear me?

Ralph:No.

Will:(laughed) Man, you're whipped already (he linked).

Kira: We were saying,take our guests home,they seem tired and look like they've been running for a while.

Ralph:Oh, sorry.( Turned to them)Do you want to come with me?

Man: Something tells me to trust you,why do we feel so drawn to you as if we're right where we belong?

Girl:And why are we feeling Sparks around us when we touch you?

Ralph:(ran a hand through his gold hair) That's the mate bond. It connects us.

Girl: What is a mate?(they started walking)And why does everyone here sound like a real wolf when they growl?

Man: Also your eyes switch colours, what's that all about?

Ralph:(looked at them) Do you know anything about werewolves?

Girl: Yeah,the scientists who are after us believe they exist and that we're the key to exposing their world,( she shrugged) why?

Ralph: I'm a Werewolf,an Alpha which mean the leader of this Pack.

Don't get me wrong, I've never been good at beating around the bush,I'm a rather straight forward person hence,I just told them exactly what I am. When no one said a word after I dropped that bomb on them,my fear started to seep in as we neared my mansion. Since the time I challenged my father for the Alpha tittle 6 and half years ago,I've been staying here. I built this house with my own hard earned money,I had planned to surprise my mate with it but she rejected me on sight before choosing my own twin brother over me. She didn't want a pathetic man who didn't have a wolf as her mate so I never got to show her my house. It is an hour away from the Pack house, hidden deep in the woods and not easily found because of the maze around it. By now my entire body was trembling with fear,the blood drained from my face and my heart clenched tightly. What if they hate us? What if they don't want a Werewolf as their mate? What if they're scared of me and run?

Elvis:(whimpered) Ral,calm down. Your fear is suffocating us both.

Ralph: I-I c-can't t-take another rejection, Elvis.

Elvis: I can't either but let's not come to a conclusion now, shall we? I'm sure they won't hurt us... You were about to commit suicide and kill us both today however,they arrived in time.

Ralph:(frowned)What do you mean?

Elvis: Everything could've ended for us tonight,if our mates didn't cross the barrier and run into our warriors then we would be dead. Think about it,of all the Packs that are near the barrier,why did they get caught by us?

Ralph: That actually doesn't make sense considering we're the farthest from the barrier. They should've been caught by the other Packs.

Elvis: Exactly! This is a sign that we are getting a second chance,the Moon Goddess knew we were giving up so she sent them to us,this is our new light and we need to embrace it.

Ralph: I trust you,El but the Goddess has been watching us suffer for years,she never did anything then why now?

Elvis:(sighed) I don't know, Ral. All I know is that I'm willing to give the mate bond one last chance and if it breaks this time....

Ralph:(sniffled) Then what?

Elvis: I'll rip everyone who has ever hurt you apart then rip our heart out.

Ralph: Thanks,El,I love you.

Elvis:(Chuckled) I love you too,bro. Now cool down.

So I did as he said or at least tried,I noticed that I was now on my knees sobbing badly and my mates in front of me. I've always been too emotional,one of the reasons my family hated me. I'd cry whenever I'm hurt,laugh if I'm happy,I could never hide my emotions and I wasn't going to start now. Two strong arms wrapped around me,the sparks flew in between as my male mate held me close.

Man: You cry a lot for a man, don't you think?(he observed).

Ralph: Is that a bad thing?

Man: No,Ral. It just means you are too sensitive and emotional but that's just one of the reasons I'm willing to stay with you.

Ralph:(shocked) You want to stay with me? Really? Aren't you upset that I'm an animal?

Girl:(pulled him in her arms) We don't know what exactly a mate is but we do know that you need us here just as we need you and even an animal deserve love too.

Ralph: So you won't leave me?

Twins: (looked at each other then him) No,not at all.

Ralph:(hugged them both) Thank you so much.

Man:Don't be, we all get what we deserve in life. You have a lot to tell us about your kind tomorrow though because tonight,we need rest.(Kissed his forehead)

What's your full name by the way?

Ralph:(chuckled) Ralph Quincy Ortiz, what are yours?

Girl:I'm Eva Aubrey Jones and he's Evan Audrey Jones. Nice to meet you, Ralph.
