Chapter 11

"This is bad." As the flames surrounded me, I immediately wrapped myself in being mana and protected my clothes.

Since my mana was purely for healing, it would take me about ten times the effort and mana to creat a barrier that has just one tenth of an average person's own.

And that was after my ridiculous training which boosted my mana control to extremely high levels.

I should really get clothes that can withstand the elements.

"Still, this fire is hot." I dispersed the mana around my finger and touched the flames and yelped as it gave me a slight burn.

I'd estimate the temperature to be around a thousand degree Celsius at most.

Nothing less than that would be able to burn me.

I looked at my charred hand and watched as my mana automatically repaired it.

I mastered automatic healing when I was five so any damage I take is healed unless the attack has a special effect in it.

"For now, I guess I'll escape." Normal attacks won't be able to do anything to my body so the lich's earlier attack must have been one that has a special effect attached to it.

I guess I'll take on the attack once to determine its effect.

An idea came to my head and I squeezed out a drop of blood and began infusing mana into it until it evolved into a clump of flesh and blood and buried it underground.

Time to roll. Quite literally I might say." I took in a deep breath and started spinning, using the little wind to disperse the flames.

...

"And that is what happened." I said to the lich who was attempting to regenerate his core and body parts that I destroyed in my earlier attack.

"Impossible! I know that the being I crushed had the same mana frequency with you and mana quantity." The lich's expression became distorted and he spat out in disbelief.

Well, I won't blame him. After all, I already know that I'm abnormal.

"Let's play a game." I said and tapped on the forehead of Katarina who I caught in the clash earlier and pressed a little bit of mana to stimulate her brain.

"Launch your strongest magic at me. I promise I won't dodge it." I wrapped my fiancée with healing mana and set her aside close to the edge of the entrance and activated the barrier that the lich king had dispelled.

It's because of things like this that I like adventuring alone. Looking after others can be sick a hassle.

"And also..." I turned to look at the lich king who was swinging injury and flicked my finger sending a shockwave at him.

"Can you stop pretending to be injured?"

"If it puts you off guess, then it's all fine." The lich king was standing before me as good as a clean corpse. Pun intended.

"Soul magic..." A complicated magic circle appeared in front of the lich and mana started gathering in it.

"Death's resonance." The circle vanished and what replaced it was a head splitting pain, one that even I have e never felt before.

"You shouldn't take an opponent's spell head on." The lich said and I sensed numerous magic circles being created and activated above me.

"Rapid magic, Elemental barrage."

And numerous spells of all levels closed in on me and battered my body.

...

"You're tough." I stood there with numerous scars and injuries on my body as I panted.

Fire, water, ice, watch, metal, death. I was hit with a near infinite amount of magic from different schools of magic and of different elements in mere seconds.

The soul magic he cast earlier I had worn off but I still couldn't stand up as parts of my body was frozen, burned, dead or encased in earth.

Even our battlefield looked nothing like the way it was as it had turned into a hellish like landscape with some parts being frozen and some being molten.

I'm sure that if we weren't inside a field that could repair itself, the cavern would have collapsed already.

"Soul, huh? This is the first time I've fought someone with this type of magic." I raised my batters left leg and used it to lift myself up.

My lips curved into a smile because despite the damage I suffered, I gained something worth much more.

"Healing magic, overdrive!" I launched my healing without any regard for mitigation of the pain ans felt my body return to its original condition.

I flexed my arms and cracked my neck and raised my arm to begin my counterattack.

"It's my turn."

...

'What is with this human!?' despite keeping calm on the surface, Adeius was panicking as the human he was supposed to have finished off rose to his feet again and just like the previous times, his injuries heals at a breakneck pace and it was as if he was never wounded at all.

'Not to mention that his mana hasn't even fluctuated. And he even isn't using magic to strengthen his body!'

The lich was already preparing to retreat and has secretly been weaving a teleportation magic circle in between attacks.

"Soul magic, Deaths wail." He pointed his finger at Sai and and began casting his speciality magic.

...

I can see it!

After getting hit with it for so long, I had already begun to see the faint lines of the lich king's soul magic.

The attack wasn't invisible but merely existed on another plane of existence.

The soul plane. That was the name I gave to that plane.

Due to the fact that I reincarnated, my soul was several degrees stronger than the average person. If not, I most likely would have been mentally incapacitated or my soul would have been destroyed.

"I have it!" I screamed a little bit delirious and and jumped up and wrapped my hand in healing mana and swung my fist at the formless attack.

"Lifebound arts, punch!" I pushed my hand and felt my fist connect with the attack and felt it pushing me back.

"Arrggh!!!" Unfortunately, the attack covered a wide range and I couldn't block everything and felt my head split open and lost my momentum and slammed into the ground.

I felt myself sink into the earth and blood leak out from my wounds that I sustained before my automatic healing kicked in and restored me to my original state.

I stood up and wiped the blood from my face and stood up again.

"Why aren't you running out of mana?" The lich asked me and I smirked and replied,

"Because what you are seeing isn't my real mana capacity." I pressed my hand against my chest and felt the mana I concealed in there.

Earlier, I can up with an idea to convert one of my internal organs to a secret mana storage organ.

It did destroy my heart a couple of times but eventually, I managed to change it.

"And there you have the reason." A rune appeared on my chest and managed surged out from my body into the area.

Though mine was of the healing type, enough of it could still cause a little bit of damage if enough is used.

"Healing magic," I raised my hand and an arrow made of light green healing mana condensed in my hands.

"Arrows of life."

Arrows of life, a single target healing technique. It is often used to heal people from over long distances but mine is a little special.

Healing magic provides life force to beings.

In that case, what about when it is used on an undead that is full of death energy, an energy directly opposite to life?

The results...

"BAHHHH!" The arrow pierced through his defenses and struck the undead causing black smoke to rise up from the area of impact.

"Healing punch." Wrapping my fist in healing mana, I launched numerous fiat shaped balls of mana at the writhing undead and clicked my tongue as they made contact with his barrier.

Looks like that won't be enough.

In that case...

"Healing swirl." I placed my plan out at the lich king and managed swirled in my hands and shot out in a spiral that engulfed the undead.
