Carmen's mischievous grin widened as she scrolled through the movie options. "How about a horror romance movie?" she suggested, her eyes twinkling with amusement.

I raised an eyebrow, feeling a shiver of apprehension. "A horror romance? Are you serious?"

Carmen nodded, still smiling. "Absolutely. It's the perfect blend of thrilling and sweet. Plus, I'll be here to protect you."

I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but smile at her enthusiasm. "Fine, but don't say I didn't warn you if I end up screaming."

With that, Carmen selected the movie and we settled back on the couch, the popcorn bowl nestled between us. As the opening credits rolled, I could already feel my heart rate picking up.
