Congratulations

I had never hated the idea of going back to my grandpa's house more than I did at this moment.

Driving down the winding roads, the warm afternoon sun shining through the car windows, Elena sitting right there beside me, looking absolutely stunning in the soft daylight.

I wanted to turn the car around and keep driving until we reached some remote island where no one could find us. Just me, Elena, and an endless supply of room service.

But no, we were headed back to my grandpa's villa.

Elena, of course, looked relaxed, gazing out at the scenery with that peaceful expression she got when she wasn't thinking about anything too hard. Meanwhile, I was gripping the steering wheel like it had personally offended me.

"One more week," I muttered under my breath. "Just one more week before we go back to New York."

"Hmm?" Elena turned to me, raising an eyebrow. "Did you say something?"

I cleared my throat. "Nothing."
