Waiting for her fiancée like a sad little puppy

I let out a long sigh, sinking deeper into the couch as I stared at the TV screen, barely paying attention to the action-packed scene playing in front of me.

Some over-the-top car chase, bullets flying everywhere, explosions that made no sense, and a main character who somehow never got a scratch on him. It should've been entertaining, but my mind was elsewhere—specifically on her.

Elena.

She was out tonight, having fun at her bachelorette party with Chloe and Lydia, and even though I knew she deserved to enjoy herself, I couldn't help but feel a little desperate for her to come back.

It wasn't jealousy, not really—I trusted her with everything I had—but tomorrow was our wedding, and the idea of spending even a few hours apart from her before our big day made my chest feel tight.
