Although their relationship was growing stronger, Lily couldn't shake the feeling that Ash was hiding something. He had been more withdrawn lately, and she noticed the signs of stress etched on his face. She wanted to help him, but he seemed reluctant to open up.
One evening, as they sat on the couch in Ash's apartment, Lily gently broached the subject. "Ash, I've noticed you've been really stressed lately. Is everything okay?"
Ash hesitated, his eyes avoiding hers. "It's just work, Lily. The internship is more demanding than I expected."
Lily took his hand, her concern evident. "You know you can talk to me about anything, right? We're in this together."
Ash sighed, finally meeting her gaze. "There's something I haven't told you. The company I'm interning with is going through financial difficulties. They might not be able to offer me a full-time position after all."
Lily's heart sank. She knew how much this internship meant to Ash, and the uncertainty of his future weighed heavily on both of them. "Oh, Ash. I'm so sorry. But no matter what happens, we'll figure it out together. I believe in you, and I know you'll find a way."
Ash smiled weakly, grateful for her support. "Thank you, Lily. I don't know what I'd do without you."
