Chapter 17: betrayal

[Third POV]

Solon was currently using his powers to build houses for the humans.

'With this we are done. 20 houses should be enough.' he thought to himself as he sat on the ground and started a fire to grill some food.

'I wonder where Uxie is.'

As Solon was thinking about his friend he felt something approaching him. After he turned around he saw Hahn coming closer and sitting down next to him.

"I am done building the houses." He said as he took a skewer from the fire and started eating.

"I want to thank you for everything so far. Even when our agreement didn't state any of these you did help with the construction."

"Don't mention it. We are friends after all."

"We are, aren't we?"

"What do you mea-"

As Solon was talking his powers warned him of danger, but before he could react a large amount of water surged from inside the forest and trapped him in ice leaving only his head free.

Hahn seeing Solon trapped inside the ice started laughing hysterically.

"Finaly, I finaly got you. Do you know how hard it was to learn about your weakness and noτ blow my cover? It took me over 9 years, but now I can kill you, then we will eat your body and obtain your power. Once we have it we will finally be able to exterminate all spirits in the world."

After hearing someone he considered a friend say such things Solon's face changed rapidly. It went from surprise, to disbelief and them dead calm.

"Hmm I expected more reaction from you. I know, this will wake you up in no time." Hahn said as he signaled to a hunter.

The hunter took something out from his pouch and threw it at the ground.

Solon looked at Uxie's corpse and his mind went blank.

[Solon POV]

The moment I saw my friend's corpse something inside me snapped. My mind went silent, usually a large amount of information is getting obtained and stored passively, but that very moment everything stopped.

Hahn, was laughing at my state, at least I think so, I didn't care about that ant right now. The only thing in my mind was my now dead friend.

An ice whip hit me in the face waking me up from my state and once I looked at the root of the attack I saw Hahn using the power of water to stab me with ice spears.

[Third POV]

"Melt."

Solon's voice was heard as all ice around the hunters melted instantly.

"What? How?" Hahn's face changed from bliss to surprise as he saw the ice he was controlling turn back into water while under his control. The next second his face returned to it's previous state.

"It doesn't matter. Even if you can influence our power you can't fight such a large number of opponents."

"Silence." Once again Solon's voice was heard and all sound disappeared from the world.

After understanding the all sound has been muted Hahn immediately used his power to attack Solon. Seeing the chief's actions all hunters followed suit and used water to attack.

"Pause" Solon decide to use his power and stop all attacks in place using his control over time.

But the very next moment the water broke through it's suspended state and shot towards him encasing his in water and throwing him towards the lake.

Solon hit the lakes surface and started sinking.

"Even if you are a spirit and have more power than us it doesn't mean we are powerless in front of you." Hahn said aloud aware that it was impossible to be heard by Solon.

"He is propably dead, go and retrieve his body." he ordered his hunters.

As the hunters were getting closer to the lake an elder asked Hahn.

"How is it possible to attack him? According to the contract we made it should be impossible without dying."

"Because we are not attacking in the name of the water tribe, we are attacking as Hahn's hunter party. The hunters are mostly independed from the tribe itself since they travel the sea most of the time."

"I see." said the elder thoughtfully

*Boom*

With a loud sound the lake's surface exploded and Solon floated in the air with fury in his face.

"Die" His voice clear as ever was heard by everyone.

The hunters after hearing his voice froze in their place.

Their bodies started to wither away.

[Hahn's POV]

I was standing alone. among piles of dust from the hunters' bodies. Solon was getting closer and my body was completely stuck. I was unable to move due to fear.

Seeing Solon stop 5 meters away from me, my legs gave in and I fell on the ground.

"As for you Hahn. I won't kill you." He said coldly while looking at me like I was already dead.

"I curse you in the name of Solon, the spirit of knowledge. You and your current people shall be hated by knowledge. You shall never obtain more knowledge than you already have no matter what. Your powers shall get weaker during the day and you will will be hated by all intelligent creatures while all unintelligent creatures will attack you on sight. This curse will vanish once all water tribe humans or those who were once a part of it die."

The moment the curse fell every human that belonged in the water tribe felt it's effects as their minds became slugglish.

"As for you Hahn. In addition to this curse I curse you to be a parasite in your own body. You shall live for exactly 1 thousand years but your body won't stop aging. You shall see yourself rot away as time passes while your body tries and fails to go against it's nature. No spirit or humans will be able to kill you since you will be healed in the exact shape from before the injury. You will see every person you even held important no matter who, die in agony right in front of your eyes as you are unable to help them." Solon said coldly as Hahn face went paler due to fear

"During your miserable existence you shall come to hate yourself, but because unlike death I am not fair, when you finally are ready to accept death and be released from this curse you shall die the most slow and agonising death anyone can imagine."

"From now on your name shall be a curse. It will bring misfortune and weakness to everyone that obtains it during their birth." said Solon while turning around and leaving.
