[Third POV]
It's been a while since I have been able to sit down and think about what I have done during my 1 thousand years of life.' Solon thought as he drank the tea he bought.
'I studied under Chronos for 100 years, learnt about the earth from Bumi, visited the wan shi tong's library, learnt about water for 10 years, and took care of the record for 890 years. I haven't done that much.'
After going through his memories for a second he froze in place.
"Chronos. Am I rushing through my life?" He asked the air while using his power to make sure no human would bother him.
After a couple to seconds of silence a voice was heard while a turtle appeared on the table in front of Solon.
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know. I feel like I am running through my life. As if someone is chasing me."
"Solon, you are not rushing, you simply live faster than others." Chronos said calmly without changing his expression.
"Don't lie to him Chronos. Solon has the right to know the truth." A voice came from Solon's side, making Chronos' smile twitch slightly showing his annoyance.
Solon immediately turned his head and saw Aether in his snake form sitting in the floor looking at Chronos seriously.
"I didn't lie Aether, I simply didn't share the whole truth."
"That's the problem. You let him choose his herald and said we should treat him as a grown spirit. Why are you hiding the truth from him. He has the right to know."
"Know what?" Solon said with curiosity since all the knowledge about the concept-level spirit's were hidden from the record. Which meant this was a chance for him to obtain new unknown knowledge.
Silence followed as the two most powerful spirits in existence looked at each others eyes. The situation was becoming tenser and Solon started getting worried about the relationship of his brothers.
*sigh*
"Ok, you can tell him the truth." Chronos said as he took a cup of tea from who knows where and started drinking.
Solon's face lit up with excitment as he took an empty book from a bag he was carrying around -to make his identity more believable- and got ready to write every word that left Aethers mouth
Both Aether and Chronos looked at Solon's action with an amused face while smiling.
"Spirits of our level are created as a result of the world's need. That means that although we are not contained by the world's laws we do have some responsibilities towards it. As such when a new spirit is born it's insticts push it to go through the young stage of it's life when it's full of curiosity faster, in order to adress the world's needs that lead to it's birth." Aether explained to Solon calmly.
Solon wrote everything Aether shared with him and then he started to think about the information he got.
"You can think about that later. For now let's drink out tea in silence." said Aether as he took another sip of his tea.
The three siblings chated freely while drinking.
After about an hour both Chronos and Aether left leaving Solon alone with his thoughts.
[Spirit realm]
[Heart of the universe]
"Why did you bring me here Aether?" asked Chronos with a calm voice but missing the smile he always has in his face.
"We have to talk." said Aether clearly angry at Chronos.
"I would like to know the reason you hid the truth from Solon." He continued without changing his tone.
"I simply believed that it would be better for him not to know the whole truth yet."
"You are lying to me. I know that but I don't understand why. So tell me, why are you acting like this?" asked Aether confused about Chronos' behaviour.
Silence ruled the dimension as Chronos looked at Aether calmly. He slowly took a breath and answered.
"I didn't want Solon to know about the world's influence on him. That knowledge would lead to him fighting against his insticts. That's not healthy and it could harm him in the long run."
"What did you see?"
"Nothing, I am unable to see anything since Solon was born. The record allows him to make decisions even I can't predict."
"So you are unable to see the results of Solon's decisions and you are afraid since you don't know the future like the rest of us. What a tragedy." Aether said sarcastically.
"You know that's not how it works. I can see the most likely scenarios but I can't know what will actually happens. The future is written in the present after all. All I can do is push the world to a direction but even that is almost impossible when he interferes."
"I think this is an opportunity. You always say that knowing all possible futures is boring, how about using this chance to live like the rest of us. Humans won't be able to touch your concept and spirits are taken care of by that herald you named after yourself. You should go in an adventure as well."
Chronos thought about it for a moment that was extended to whole years by his concept.
"Are you sure you will be able to handle everything? I don't want to burden you more. Taking care of outsiders that try to infiltrate our universe is tiring for you after all." Chronos said with worry inhis voice.
"You are simply underestimating me. I have been dealing with outsiders since the dawn of time. It's nothing to take care of them while looking after Solon."
"I see. I think I take you up on that offer then. I would love to travel once again now that there is something for me to see in he world."
"Go then, I will take care of everyone until you're back." said Aether happy with his brother's decision, yet unaware that Chronos never really answered his question.
