Truthful Reminder

Everyday, was the same bullshit. The never ending cycle of torment and shady jokes. The childish behavior of her base's alphas whenever they welcomed her back.

Jealousy was an ugly and bitter thing.

A huge pain in the ass to deal with continuously everyday. An inconvenience to Cymbeline. It made her want to beat the shit out of the envious fuckers and teach them a lesson like no other, yet she didn't.

She knew they wouldn't ever lay a filthy hand on her because they were excessively afraid of the consequences they'd face. Violence amongst themselves was a violation inside the base.

They were cowards who were also intimidated by her skillful strength in fighting. A known fact to those who knew of her low-key status. Precisely, her association with gangsters and childhood coming.

Plus, they didn't want to provoke the overprotective Alpha by her side. Their base's guard that'd make their life a living nightmare if they'd try anything shady or give her a glance with malicious motives.

However, her mother would also be upset with her if she were to get into trouble with their own kind. Upset if she was to make more enemies for herself and an unwanted target.

Truthfully, her mother was all it'd take for her to listen. Whatever her mother said, she would listen and follow like a mantra.

Almost like a well-trained dog would do for their beloved owner. A mistake the foreign children would make fun of her for before she'd educate them on an excruciating lecture herself. Of course, only to the children with no sense of morals or respect.

Side-eyeing the mixed breed of alphas, Cymbeline merely scoffed and returned the same energy to those who clearly disliked her.

"Just watch. I'm gonna obliterate them someday when I get the chance."

The midget hissed, viciously. Thoughts she had herself, but didn't express them out loud.

Before she could lecture the youngster, despite agreeing with him, Ziven had beaten her to talk.

"I agree wholeheartedly."

He admitted with a toothy smile.

"I don't think I asked."

Keegan remarked with a twitch on his scarred eyebrow.

Cymbeline only smacked the back of his head before looking at the Alpha with a forced smile.

"He's joking."

She fake laughed, hiding the embarrassment and nerves if the munchkin had caused the Alpha to get upset.

'Stupid midget. One of these days, you're gonna get us in deep shit!'

One thing for sure, Cymbeline didn't want to make an enemy out of a high-class warrior like Ziven.

Explains why she often covered up Keegan's rude comments with scolds, jokes, or excuses like a puberty faze he was experiencing.

"It's fine, Cymbeline. I don't mind."

The handsome Alpha smiled at her before aiming a grin at the midget beside her.

"If anything, I find it adorable how he's taking his first steps as an Alpha. A short temperament comes with the early stages of an Alpha at his age."

At that, the munchkin's movement paused at the disguised insult he received from the Alpha. Slowly, he turned to the Alpha and revealed an offended sharp look.

"You son of a—!"

Before he could attack, Cymbeline quickly locked her arm around his small neck to prevent him from doing anything drastic.

"Would you look at that, we're already here."

She distracted as she looked straight ahead and kept Keegan in a harmless chokehold.

Mercifully, the three made it to Cymbeline's and Keegan's neighborhood block before things could escalate to an unwanted confrontation.

When the male wasn't looking, she swiftly directed a warning look at the midget, which metaphorically indicated "behave" in all caps.

After a few minutes of nearing her home, they received multiple stares from the guards and immature alphas of that area.

"Astraea, don't these assholes ever learn that staring is rude as fuck?"

She hissed between themselves. The two males simply faced the direction of her sight and took note of a different view point unlike her own.

To her ignorance, those alphas were giving her lustful and indecent eyes. Clearly, the alphas were infatuated by the undeniable beauty and presence she didn't have a clue she possesses.

Over the years, Cymbeline's appearance became more alluring and evident, despite her efforts of making herself appear unattractive and unfeminine.

In her eyes, she looked scrawny, ghetto, and thuggish. An appearance alphas usually find unattractive unlike the ordinary docile and feminine Omega.

Then again, unknown to her, the outsiders didn't care about such things. If they found someone attractive, they found them attractive and didn't care about the genders. They would find different ways of pleasures with an open mind.

A norm in planets outside of Earth. A tradition to take in various partners as mates to fuck their rut out or for fun. A difference with Earthling's alphas, who only fuck their Omega and not each other.

"Cymbeline? You're back already?"

A beautiful woman's voice shouted as they reached her stunning form. It looked as if she just got done throwing out the trash.

Cymbeline smiled and waved at the platinum-blonde-haired Omega while Keegan quickly ran to the woman's side with a triumphant smirk.

He must've been excited to tell his mother about lending a hand to Cymbeline. Precisely, after she snook out of their base to fetch her goodies.

In reality, the actual help was Ziven, but the midget did assist in preventing her from getting caught by the guards.

"Hey, Augustine. Actually, I'm about to head out to work. I just went out for some fresh air."

Cymbeline effortlessly lied with a nonchalant face. Lying was something she was accustomed to doing since her childhood.

"Oh, I see. Sometimes it gets a little hectic down here, so it's understandable."

Augustine spoke, being mindful of her words around the Alpha beside them. She knew of Cymbeline's situation and disguise, the same as her feisty son.

Shortly, the blonde looked at the handsome Alpha and smiled at him before speaking to them both.

"Keegan, didn't bother you two, did he?"

"Not at all, ma'am. He's been a good sport."

This time, Ziven replied to the beautiful Omega. He gave her a friendly smile as he kept a polite tone throughout their conversation.

"That's good to hear. Though I do know my son can be a bit... sharp with his tongue. I apologize on his behalf if he's ever been rude."

She apologized to the Alpha before side-eyeing her son, who refused to look at her. The midget merely kept a poker face as he had his hands on the back of his head and whistled.

"Keegan, you should be grateful to have another kind and generous role model beside you. Maybe you can learn from him."

She scolded while keeping a close-eyed smile on her flawless face.

"Yeah, yeah. I get it."

The midget pouted and crossed his arms, showing his disdain and opinion on the Alpha. However, they knew he would listen to his beloved mother.

Knowing this, the blonde hugged her son before pecking his cheek with a praise.

"Thank you, sweetheart. I'm extremely proud to have such a wonderful son, who listens to his mother."

Keegan simply blushed as he tried to keep an unbothered reaction. Obviously, the midget liked being praised, which is why Ziven added more to the flattery.

"I'm sure every mother would agree to your words, ma'am. Your son is exceptional."

The handsome Alpha agreed, playfully nodding his perfect head. At the action, his shiny silver-blue locks swayed in a smooth motion. His hair resembling silk.

It warmed Cymbeline's heart because of their friendly interaction and seeing them getting along. Particularly, the kindness and non-judgmental attitude Ziven showed towards Augustine.

A beautiful woman, who has no pack or a mate to take care of her as an Omega. In truth, she once had a mate, but the union didn't last.

The piece of shit had abandoned her when she was pregnant with Keegan. The alien fucker was the massive portion of the alphas, who visited Earth for their sick pleasure. An uncaring and irresponsible Alpha that merely wanted his fun with a human Omega and nothing more.

With nobody to take care of her, and with Earth's alphas being out of the picture, she had to take matters into her own hands. The choice and decision being her working in the entertainment business as a single mother.

The Red Light District.

A risky place a few took the chance and survived off of it when the extraterrestrials took over their planet. She was twenty during that time, but that was then, and this was now.

In the past, Augustine was once a club's dancer, but she quit after Cymbeline was old enough to help provide. A responsibility Cymbeline took in herself as a repayment for what Augustine had done for both her mother and her.

Mainly because no Alpha wanted the beauty in their pack because she was a 'used' Omega with a night worker mark. A mark sealing her life's fate on being looked down upon for as long as she lived, which was ridiculous.

Unfortunately, no Alpha wants an ex-stripper as their mate. A stain and humiliation for their pack's reputation.

It's the shitty reason Augustine doesn't have a pack to protect her and Keegan. Alphas that could provide and support the two.

'I'm thankful for your kindness and loyal friendship, Ziven. I promise to repay you whenever the time occurs.'

"Oh my, it seems you're growing much taller and building more muscle than a week ago."

Augustine poked as she feigned an impressed gasp when observing her cheeky son's appearance.

"She's right. You're definitely getting more taller and muscular. I can tell you'll make a fine Alpha one day, Keegan."

Ziven cheered with a beaming smile.

Cymbeline simply observed Keegan, who tried to hide a pleased grin by biting his lower lip. He was faking to play it cool, which made her mentally scoff at the sight.

His magna marks flickered in a brighter shade of orange. A rare sight of the little sucker being happy to hear the older alpha's approval and compliment.

The midget choosing to forget as if he didn't dislike or insult the male on various occasions.

'Little shit.'

Cymbeline snorted before expressing her goodbyes and thanks to Ziven. She knew the Alpha couldn't stick around for too long since he was still on duty.

"Thanks again for your assistance and help. See you around sometime. Take care, Ziv."

She gave him a small smile and an awkward wave, to which he returned with a cute blush.

"Yeah, of course. It's no problem. If you ever need me for anything, I'll be right there whenever, C-Cym."

Deep inside, the Alpha was upset that he couldn't spend more time with her, but he kept a happy face on.

He inwardly cursed at his troublesome obligation to go back on duty and keep a watch of the area. At least, he could rest knowing there could be a possibility to see her if she were to pass by the location he was stationed at.

A likelihood he hoped for.

Shortly, he politely gave his farewells to the other two before turning around to leave. The three simply watched his muscular back become smaller with each passing second until it wasn't visible when he turned to a corner of the neighborhood block.

"Cymbeline."

Hearing the call of her name, her violet eyes moved their sight to the beautiful omega with heed.

"You should be careful around him. Especially, with an Alpha of his caliber."

The blonde omega advised almost like a warning and reminder of the dangers before them.

The daily challenges of slithering their way around to get by and keep Cymbeline's secrets hidden. Something the Alpha could catch on and report to the higher ups.

Loss for words, it took Cymbeline a brief moment to process her words before quickly responding.

"I know, it's just... I know he's not a terrible Alpha unlike those motherfuckers we've seen the entire crisis. Trust me."

She stated as a matter of fact, having no doubt about Ziven being different from the variety of alphas. She was confident in her skills when it came to having good sense of judgement with people.

"I believe you, but you can't ever trust an Alpha. No matter how kind and generous he may seem to you or anyone. Even if he acts and looks harmless."

Cymbeline knew what the beauty meant and the good intentions behind her warning. She was fully aware of the harsh reality omegas obey and live under.

Their significance in the fucked up world.

The pleasers and breeders for alphas to impregnate with their nonstop filthy seed, filling their wombs. A natural occurrence and norm they must allow. An enforced mindset omegas should have and not question.

Sometimes, it saddened her what their lives had become compared to when she was a child. Before the Galactic War took place and Earth became what it is known today—a corrupt and fallen planet.

"Don't worry, I won't let my guard down for any fucking Alpha. That's a promise."

She hissed with bitterness evident in her fierce voice. Her face and eyes were as cold as ice, but Keegan's mother knew the reason behind her indifferent demeanor.

Towards the end of the day, Ziven was and would always be an Alpha. He'd be driven by his instincts the same as the others if he knew of Cymbeline's circumstances and false identity. Her truth.

However, Cymbeline wouldn't let the compulsory ideals of the galaxy's alphas take away what's hers. Her given right to choose; her freedom. The rules and regulations that previous emperors of the galaxy had made in the past.

Regrettably, the ones many strictly follow today in their planets, along with Earth now.

"I believe and trust you, but... I'm just worried for you. That's all."

Augustine's voice was soft and tender. It always was whenever she spoke to Cymbeline.

Truthfully, she considered Cymbeline as her own child even after Keegan's birth. She treated her with motherly care and love, despite not sharing a drop of blood with her.

"Forgive me, Cymie. I don't mean to upset you or cause you any trouble with my constant nagging. I hope you can forgive me."

Seeing the saddened eyes of her second mother, Cymbeline held her hand as she spoke before leading her to the trailer's entrance.

Of course, the midget quietly followed along without interrupting their heartfelt moment.

"It's okay. I know. I'm more grateful than annoyed with you."

Cymbeline said with a smile before hugging the woman she strongly cared for.

In truth, Cymbeline didn't care if she were to jeopardize her truth if it ever came to protecting them—her mother, Augustine, and Keegan. She would lose her fear and accept whatever consequences that would come after getting caught for lying.

After all, her loved ones were the only ones that matter and nothing else. She would ensure their safety and happiness at any given cost. Even if the price was her bloody sacrifice.
