Naruto: The Fifth Hokage [18]

Chapter 18: Fabricating Evidence

When Makoto received the message from Kakashi, he was in the Police Force headquarters with Fugaku, classifying the Uchiha clan's ninjutsu for distribution to the civilian ninjas who had joined the force.

The two carefully selected three C-rank jutsu from each chakra attribute, compiling them from both family heirlooms and the accumulated spoils of past Uchiha generations. Fire Release was naturally included, featuring the iconic Great Fireball Jutsu and Phoenix Sage Fire Jutsu.

While the quality of the other elemental techniques might not match those of clans specializing in them, they were still superior to the standard jutsu accessible to Genin. After all, not just any jutsu could make its way into the Uchiha archives.

"Isn't giving away C-rank ninjutsu after just a month of work a bit excessive?" Fugaku hesitated.

Outside of the clan, an ordinary Genin might have to complete missions for an entire year to earn the right to learn a single C-rank jutsu. This disparity was one of the primary reasons why ninja clans held such a significant advantage over civilian ninjas.

"Just give it away," Makoto replied nonchalantly. "No matter how many people learn these jutsu, the techniques themselves won't diminish. Other clans have to consider resource control, but we don't. Our foundation isn't just in jutsu—it's in the Sharingan."

At that moment, a knock came at the door.

"Clan Leader, Kakashi Hatake is here to see you." The voice belonged to Kentaro, a young Uchiha Chunin, just two years younger than Makoto. He had graduated from the Academy only a year ago, yet his expression showed clear displeasure at Kakashi's presence.

"Kentaro, guests are to be treated with respect. Do not neglect them." Makoto lightly reminded him.

"But..." Kentaro hesitated, seemingly wanting to say more, but Makoto placed a reassuring hand on his shoulder and spoke as they walked.

"I know what you want to say. But remember, Kakashi carries an Uchiha eye because it was entrusted to him by our clan's hero, Obito, before his death. That eye carries Obito's will. We Uchiha honor the choices of our heroes. And Kakashi has never brought shame to the Sharingan either."

Makoto didn't lower his voice, and in the reception room, Kakashi heard every word. For a long time, the Uchiha clan had looked at him with disdain because of his borrowed eye. Yet now, the new clan leader was showing him an unexpected level of respect.

Makoto entered the reception room and greeted him. "What brings you to the Police Force today, Kakashi-senpai?"

"By order of the Hokage, Clan Leader Uchiha Makoto is to report to the Hokage Building tomorrow to provide an update on the Shimura Danzo case."

"Understood," Makoto nodded. "I'll be there."

Seeing that his task was complete, Kakashi prepared to leave, but Makoto stopped him.

"Kakashi-senpai, since you're already here, you should take that Wood Release ninja with you. We've completed his interrogation. He's young and wasn't involved in most of Danzo's actions. The only questionable incident… well, you already know what it is. His fate should be decided by the Third Hokage."

Kakashi recalled his encounter with the Wood Release user during the Hokage's assassination attempt. Seeing no reason to refuse, he nodded.

Makoto led Kakashi to the interrogation rooms. The agonized cries of Shimura clan members echoed through the halls, causing Kakashi to frown.

"The Police Force's interrogation methods aren't as refined as those of the Anbu, so we rely on more direct approaches," Makoto explained casually. "One of the prisoners in there is closely tied to the incident with the White Fang. Do you want to see him?"

Kakashi's expression darkened for a moment before he shook his head. "No. It wouldn't be appropriate."

Makoto didn't press the issue and instead brought Kakashi to the cell where Kinoe—who would later be known as Yamato—was held. He handed Kakashi a scroll.

"This guy is a product of Danzo and Orochimaru's twisted experiments. I'll report the details to the Third Hokage tomorrow. This scroll contains the key to his sealing technique."

With that, Kakashi entered the cell, deactivated the seal, and left with Yamato.

Once they were gone, Makoto turned and entered another cell—the one holding Yamanaka Fuu.

Unlike Kinoe, Fuu had received no food or water since his capture. Over the past two days, he had been subjected to the combined wrath of the Uchiha clan's most skilled Chunin, beaten mercilessly, and forced through the torment of the Sharingan's genjutsu countless times. Now, he hung limply on a cross, barely able to lift his head.

Makoto pulled a table closer and calmly began writing. He was fabricating Danzo's crimes—not that they weren't true, but now there would be irrefutable proof.

Colluding with Orochimaru to experiment on orphans. Deliberately killing Konoha's own ninjas to harvest their bloodlines. Orchestrating the smear campaign against Sakumo Hatake, leading to his suicide, and later silencing those who knew too much.

This was the advantage of being a time traveler. Makoto knew every crime Danzo had committed without needing to interrogate anyone. Now, all he had to do was create the evidence.

Finishing the document, Makoto stepped forward, grabbed Fuu's hand, and forced his bloody fingerprint onto it.

Fuu weakly lifted his head, his eyes burning with hatred.

Makoto's Mangekyō Sharingan activated. A surge of chakra and ocular power invaded Fuu's mind, breaking down his thoughts bit by bit.

Makoto's genjutsu skills weren't particularly refined—by Uchiha standards, he was merely proficient. Any seasoned Uchiha Chunin could surpass him in technique. But in this moment, he didn't need subtlety. He didn't need Fuu to confess.

He just needed to break him.

"Ah… ah… ah…"

Soon, the once-proud Yamanaka Fuu was reduced to a drooling, mindless husk, his consciousness shattered beyond repair.
