KADEN
Kaden had been talking with Casper over the phone when he had heard the ambulance sirens, but he hadn't been perturbed by it because it wasn't in any way his concern.
Casper had been aghast when he had told him about the collar that he had managed to get rid of with the help of Jiraq and the others. His Beta's reaction had told him that it would be a bad move to tell the others of the collar removal procedures and its consequences, not until they had found a solution to the problem.
Liam had dropped a knock on the door before walking in. The look on his face had told Kaden that bad news was about to be shared. Quickly he had told Casper that he would call back in the next few minutes before ending the almost one hour call.
"What is the matter?" He had asked Liam, immediately he had dropped the phone on the bedside table.
"Storm's father is dead." Liam had mentioned. "The ambulance had come for him. I overheard the doctor talking about a heart failure or something. That's crazy."
"Yeah, it is." He had muttered, his eyes finding their way to Storm's window. He had furrowed his eyes, when he saw her walk into her room, her face a board of dejection.
"We will talk later Liam. I have to go over to see her." He had cited, pausing when he saw Liam glaring at him.
"What?" Kaden had asked, folding his hairy arms across his chest.
"You are going to sneak through her window again? Like last night?" Liam had asked, raising his eyebrow.
"How did you…?" Kaden had stuttered, then gave up at last. Liam must have seen him scaling the ledges.
"But what do you think you are doing Kaden? She is a human, and she is not one of us. And there is the fact that you are still with Avery. You know how Avery can be. If you value that girl's life, you should let her go." Liam had advised, and Kaden had hated that his friend was right.
But still…
"Avery is not my mate…" He had pointed out.
"That doesn't didnt stop you from fucking her, and kicking any guy's butt that trues to come closer to her than the usual.'' Liam said.
"That is because I don't share my stuff. I wouldn't do that if the other guy was her mate." He stated.
"That won't matter when Avery finds you out. It is not like the human is your mate. Stop toying with their feelings. Storm doesn't look like a slut." Liam said.
"She isn't." He agreed. "…but I still need to check out how she is doing. This period will be hard for her. I don't think any of her friends are aware yet. So, I will just keep her company until they come."
"Anything that floats your boat. Kim is asking if you will have the usual for breakfast though."
"Yes. I will be right back.'' He had mentioned, before walking toward his open window and jumping out from it, knowing that Liam was still in his room, watching him sneak into Storm's room.
Sneaking into Storm's room this time around had been easier than the first time, and so he hadn't been surprised when she had known that he had been in her room the previous night.
No. What had surprised Kaden was when Storm had kissed him. He hadn't seen it coming at all. He thought her lips so soft! He thought her a great kisser.
And when she had told him to leave after he had stopped the kiss the first time, he couldn't. Not when her face was still crumpled in sadness. And against his better judgement, he had kissed her again, risking the straining of his pants against her v-area. I
He wanted her, but he knew he couldn't have her now; especially not now. She was not in her right senses and just wanted to forget.
She wanted to use him to forget and Kaden didn't like that. The time he would have her, he wanted her to be in control of her senses, so that he won't be guilt ridden for taking advantage of her weak state.
"Why are you stopping?" Storm asked him, her round eyes filled with so much passion that he wanted to damn his honour and take her right there and then.
"You are not in complete control of your emotions. You just want to forget. And even though I want nothing more than to oblige your request, I don't want you regretting the act later. I don't think I would be able to take that." He answered; a bit sullen, when she backed away from his embrace and increased the distance between them on the bed.
He only hoped that she would understand and not tell her to leave the room again.
"Okay…can you stay with me for a while?" Storm asked, with a voice barely above a whisper, and he nodded without hesitation.
He stood up and carried her, to her surprise, to the centre of the bed.
Then, he laid down close to her, happy when she cuddled into him, placing her hand on his chest.
"Thanks Kaden." She murmured, closing her eyes.
It would be good if she slept.
Kaden thought, aware of the tight strain against his jeans. He needed a release.
A knock sounded on the door, and Storm jerked her head up, sighing ruefully.
"You have to leave now. We will see later, in the evening you had said…" She whispered, standing up from the bed.
"Storm, open the door right now!" A shrill voice sounded outside the door. Her step sister, he presumed, getting out of the bed, and strolling quickly to the window.
He took a last glance at her before jumping out of the window, vowing to take her out of that house soon.
"You were with him right? You bitch! I told you to stay away from him!" He heard the girl scream, and gritted his teeth.
Couldn't the idiot save her grievances till the next day? And what was that about staying away from him? The girl must be nuts thinking he will notice her.
