The Other Gods (3)

 The Other Gods (3)

With their meal finished and their conversation winding down, Arthur and Lily began to clear the table. Arthur, ever the meticulous one, gathered both their plates and utensils. He didn't mind doing the dishes; in fact, he found it somewhat therapeutic. Now, before anyone said anything, Lily did offer to help, but after the multiple times her hot-headed temper caused her to break more than a few dishes and glasses, Arthur told her to just sit down and make herself comfortable. And more importantly, stay away from anything fragile or breakable which to the current Lily was a lot.

As Arthur headed toward the sink with the dirty dishes, Lily remained seated, patting her full stomach in contentment. The clinking of dishes and running water filled the kitchen, creating a soothing backdrop to their conversation.
