Rest

When I left Zeus, it was as if he was doing anything to make me stay. Why would I? Given the massive size of his house, I didn't run into Eve, Reign, or Dimitri. Once I finished depositing my money in the bank and made it home, I knew there were two people I needed to talk to—two people I'd been missing.

"There you are!" I felt a familiar voice behind me.

"Here I am!" I cried, throwing my arms around Tanya. Where's Eric?"

"He went to do something real quick," she answered, "So, how were things with Zeus?"

"Better than I could have expected if I'm being honest," I admitted, "He was kind, tender, compassionate, nothing like the man I met before."

"She studied me momentarily, "Hold on, do you like him?"

It was happiness I heard in her voice; it was almost worrisome.

"Not as much as I care for you and Eric," I corrected. I might like him, maybe. If I'm being honest, I don't even think I liked Dimitri or Callista."

 "Are you sure?" she asked.

"I'm sure about Dimitri and Callista," I sighed, "I think I do. Please don't look at me like that."

"I don't want to lose you," she quietly replied.

I held her hand within my grasp. "I'll never not need you in my life. I'll always need you, no matter what. You're the only person I can say anything to. I can't lose you."

She pecked me on the cheek, "Good."

"That's what I like to see," Eric said, "My two beautiful ladies bonding with one another."

"Then what are you doing here?" Tanya sarcastically replied.

"Ouch!" he pressed his hand to his heart, "It hurts."

"Come here!" I embraced Eric tightly, "I miss you."

"I missed you too, beautiful," he pecked me. "How are you?"

I smiled, "I've been better, but not as bad as I was."

"You look beautiful," he commented, "You look like you finally ate something."

 I shoved his shoulder, "Dick."

"You love me," he spanked me.

"Jerk!" I shoved him down on the barstool playfully. I ordered all the appetizers, and Zeus knows the bartender, so we're drinking his Sauvignon Blanc on reserve for free."

"Ohh, I like anything with alcohol and free," Tanya giggled in a giddy manner while I poured her a glass."

"Fancy restaurant, complimentary food, and drink; I think someone likes you," Eric chuckled, "I'm glad you're taking care of yourself now. We were all going wild there for a minute."

"I still kind of am," I sighed, "Not as much as I was, though. I have a lot on my mind lately."

"We're here if you need us," Tanya said between bites.

I sipped on my wine and nibbled on some rare steak. The only thing I wanted today was meat.

"Devouring that steak like a carnivore," Tanya commented.

"My mind had been going crazy, and I've been stressing myself out to the point where I forgot to eat. I was drinking and doing cocaine like it was candy. It helped until it didn't."

"Same," Tanya confessed, "Eric and I leaned on each other when you were with Zeus."

"Oh," I dropped my head. Why did this bother me? It's not like the three of us are dating. I'm still not sure even what Zeus and I are.

"Are you okay?" Eric waved his hand in my face.

"Yeah, sorry," I apologized, "Lost in thought."

"When's the next time you're seeing Zeus?" Tanya asked.

"I don't know," I shrugged, "I don't care. I want to enjoy my time with you both."

"What do you say we head back to your place and have real fun?" Eric suggested.

"Sounds good to me," Tanya and I said in unison.
