Overindulging

"I also want four pairs of these Christian Louboutins and four assorted purses and handbags from Louis Vuitton. I want these perfumes from Chanel, and next time, bring me clothes more to my taste. Not pastel or blue; I hate the color blue," I scoffed.

 "Ma'am, blue is Zeus's favorite-"

"I'm well aware of what he does and doesn't like," I interrupted, " I am marrying him after all."

"Right away," the maid bowed her head and exited my room immediately.

I have become increasingly cold over the past few weeks but couldn't care less. It was working to my advantage. Zeus also kept his promise: He hadn't let anyone besides Tanya come to visit, though it had been much longer than a week.

"It seems that you're making all the staff hate you," a familiar, obnoxious male voice said behind me.

"What are you doing here, Deacon?" I grumbled.

Deacon looked completely different from the man I met. He was no longer a glasses-wearing, slicked-haired professor. His hair fell like Zeus's, and his mannerisms and attire matched him. It was as though he was a younger carbon copy of Zeus, thankfully without the mental experience. He still had that child-like need for his toys to stay his, and he didn't like to share.

"Tell me, why are the staff so attentive to you?" he questioned.

"Seriously?" I turned around while folding my arms across my chest.

The puzzled look on his face made it clear; right then, I realized he didn't know Zeus and I were getting married. I pressed my tongue to my cheek and dropped my arms with a victorious chuckle. This was going to be fun. How far could I take him before he broke? Taunt, twist him around my finger and watch him go crazy with envy. I sauntered to Deacon, trying my best not to expose my enjoyment through my expression.

"You mean you don't know?" I teased while placing my fingers on his bare chest.

 "Know what?" he swallowed.

I walked around him, "You mean he didn't tell you?"

"Who didn't tell me what?" he growled.

I walked away from Deacon to the fireplace, purposefully letting my black maxi lace robe fall over my left shoulder while looking back at him.

"I guess it's not your business," I taunted.

 "Ivy, if you do-"

"Touchy, touchy, aren't we," I interrupted, "Why so frustrated? It's not as if your brother wanted me all to himself, so he did this."

I held out my left hand to show him the ring on my finger. His puzzlement turned to anger, and he marched over to me, seizing my hand and examining the ring.

"He gave you our mother's ring?" he whispered.

"Did he?" I asked. I did not know, but it made all this much more fun. I freed my hand from his grasp and walked over to the window.

"Why would you give you our mother's ring? There's no way he could truly love you," Deacon commented.

"Perhaps," I smirked, "Love and desire are very complicated. Don't you know what it's like?"

I walked over to him and traced my crimson fingernails along his collarbone.

"Know what-what's like, Ivy?" he asked.

"Not wanting to share?" I answered while walking away.

Deacon seized my right wrist and turned me back towards him. The anger burning in his eyes means I had won.

"What the Hell are you talking about?" he roared.

"Don't you know?" I cackled while yanking my wrist free, "Once I marry him, You, Eric, and Dimitri can never touch me again."

Before I could react, Deacon threw me down on my bed, which I retorted with laughter. My teasing made him more and more enraged.

"What are you laughing for?" he growled, "You're the one about to get fucked."

"Oh, really, little brother?" Zeus's voice erupted from the doorway as he jerked Deacon off of me by the collar of his shirt."

"Who the fuck do you think you are?! Giving her mother's ring without asking me?!" Deacon shoved Zeus back by his shoulders.

"I don't need your permission," Zeus replied.

"You think putting that ring on her finger means the other men in this house won't have her," Deacon threatened.

"What are you saying, little brother?" Zeus cautioned.

Deacon adjusted his shirt before smugly looking back at me. Zeus's eyes followed, which I replied with a roll of my eyes before resting my chin on my palm.

"You should have thought about keeping her to yourself before letting the rest of us have a taste," Deacon warranted, "She belongs to all of us, not just you. You're naive to think otherwise-"

"Leave!" Zeus' thunderous voice echoed through the walls with authority, which Deacon understood and left as he was told.

Once the door was closed, Zeus approached me and checked my reddening wrist. "Are you alright?"

"Nothing I can't handle," I mumbled while sliding my wrist from his grasp.

"Did he have you?" he questioned.

"Seriously?" I scoffed, "What do you think?"

His angry, stern expression began to soften, "Sorry."

"Besides, you've been avoiding me," I mentioned.

"I'm not avoiding. " He corrected, "I wanted you to have your space with Tanya and become settled before anything else."

"Why have a heart now?" I punched.

"I told you I'd show you how much I loved you?" he reminded.

 Let's find out how much.

The dark, slithering voice echoed in my head once more.
