Chapter 37 UNEXPECTED OFFER

Samantha’s POV

The brush in my hand smoothly slid into the white dish, squeezing out enough cream watercolor on it as well. I wanted to start dark, black with charcoal grays. I lifted my hand, adding no line of black to the stark paper.

Soon enough, the worry left me and I started to paint. Peace ran through me, erasing every tense thought. Like a pianist playing in a concert, a gymnast jumping a vault with the young girl playing in my element.

I was busy painting the town when my phone suddenly started ringing on the table. I turned around, and I accidentally caught my reflection in the hallway mirror.

I smiled as I stared at my face that was brighter than usual, my skin flushed naturally, and my eyes were wide and sparkling. I smiled wider as it stretched across my entire face unknowingly.

I didn’t even know it was already five in the afternoon. I had been painting since eleven in the morning. Time really flies when you’re with the thing you love.
