Chapter 107 THE PAINTING

Samantha's POV

I also explained to Caleb, the same words as what I told the old man. I gave him the same explanation about the heart that I painted on the canvas.

Caleb nodded, a small smile tugging on his face in response to my words. My cheeks flushed with delight at his approval, and I hid my face behind the folder.

“Wow!" he exclaimed ecstatically. "I can understand where you're coming from. In fact, I really like it."

“Thank you…” I said, choking down my unprofessional insecurities. Now that someone was telling me how good I was, I wanted to explain to them why my paintings were wrong.

The lines were bad, as if the paint had come off. But I had to put a stop to it. I had to stay calm because, even though I knew Caleb, it was still his job to check on my work.

Caleb gently yanked the portfolio from my clutches, and I nearly ripped a corner off by gripping it too tightly.
