“Please be my date on Saturday night’s party…” Mr. Easton Gonzalez said after submitting the report I had written earlier. The yellow folder he was handing me back hung in the air as I stared at him in shock.
"Excuse me?" I shrieked, my gaze fixed on his. "I'm not going on a date with you!" I exclaimed, glaring at my boss.
“Don’t worry Miss Bell, it’s a fake date…” my boss informed me and I felt like I was splashed with cold water on the face.
Easton Gonzalez, the CEO of Gonzalez Steel Manufacturing and Industries asked his personal assistant Chloe Bell to be his fake date on their company’s Silver Anniversary to annoy and upset his ex-wife who cheated on him with his best friend. He chose Chloe out of all the girls around him because he knew Chloe wasn’t like the other girls who were crazy about him.

A few days had gone by after the night I spent with my boss in his bed, and he actually started acting in a more decent manner after that incident. He didn't make any attempt to kiss me or flirt with me, and he certainly didn't give me any indication that we should do again what we did.


But the thing is, I always caught him staring at me while I was taking down notes of his instructions, or his mind was flying somewhere and didn't hear what I was saying to him… or he would just look at me with a smirk on his face when I was handing him his coffee. All of these things happened simultaneously.


I chose to overlook all of those strange behaviors he displayed. It's possible that he's just thinking about how much he misses Rosie, or perhaps he's thinking of some crucial aspects of the business.
