“Please be my date on Saturday night’s party…” Mr. Easton Gonzalez said after submitting the report I had written earlier. The yellow folder he was handing me back hung in the air as I stared at him in shock.
"Excuse me?" I shrieked, my gaze fixed on his. "I'm not going on a date with you!" I exclaimed, glaring at my boss.
“Don’t worry Miss Bell, it’s a fake date…” my boss informed me and I felt like I was splashed with cold water on the face.
Easton Gonzalez, the CEO of Gonzalez Steel Manufacturing and Industries asked his personal assistant Chloe Bell to be his fake date on their company’s Silver Anniversary to annoy and upset his ex-wife who cheated on him with his best friend. We left the theater before the end of the movie, and as we were leaving, I noticed that Jasper and Avery had already left when we passed by the seat that they had been sitting in earlier. I shrugged my shoulders and followed Easton as he led me out of the movie house.


‘‘You should wear this...’’ When we find out that it was pouring heavily outside, Easton took off his coat and draped it over my shoulder. ‘‘Better get ready for a run if you don’t want to get wet, baby…’’


‘‘Okay…’’ I gave a slight affirmative nod and took his hand as I mentally prepared myself to run into the cold rain.
