"Excuse me?" I shrieked, my gaze fixed on his. "I'm not going on a date with you!" I exclaimed, glaring at my boss.
“Don’t worry Miss Bell, it’s a fake date…” my boss informed me and I felt like I was splashed with cold water on the face.
Easton Gonzalez, the CEO of Gonzalez Steel Manufacturing and Industries asked his personal assistant Chloe Bell to be his fake date on their company’s Silver Anniversary to annoy and upset his ex-wife who cheated on him with his best friend. ‘‘Easton!’’ I almost rolled my eyes when I heard Rosie scream dramatically with tears in her eyes as she struggled to free herself from the grip of the two bulky men. She flailed her arms and kicked their feet, so they let her go and she swiftly ran towards Easton, who she then hugged tightly, while I just stood there and watched them with a heavy heart.


I turned my attention away from them and focused on Jasper, who was examining me closely and most likely wondering who Rosie was. I looked down as I didn't want to see his scrutinizing gaze.
