CHLOE's POV

As I watched Mori and Liam run while clinging to the patient trolley as the medical team transferred Easton to the surgical room, I grieved through the entire process. In order to extract the bullet from both his shoulder and his abdomen, he required emergency surgical intervention.

I was still shocked by what happened. I felt like I was in a horrible nightmare. I raised my head to gaze at Dustin, who was holding me in a tight grip. He looked at me with eyes that were filled with pity.

‘‘Dustin…’’ I cried, shaking his shoulder and he led me to the waiting area as we took a seat because my knees are getting weak from all of the things that was happening. ‘‘He’s going to be okay, right? I asked brokenly, shaking Dustin even more, but he didn’t respond in any way. ‘‘Dustin… He’s not going to leave me and our baby, right?’’
