“Please be my date on Saturday night’s party…” Mr. Easton Gonzalez said after submitting the report I had written earlier. The yellow folder he was handing me back hung in the air as I stared at him in shock.
"Excuse me?" I shrieked, my gaze fixed on his. "I'm not going on a date with you!" I exclaimed, glaring at my boss.
“Don’t worry Miss Bell, it’s a fake date…” my boss informed me and I felt like I was splashed with cold water on the face.
Easton Gonzalez, the CEO of Gonzalez Steel Manufacturing and Industries asked his personal assistant Chloe Bell to be his fake date on their company’s Silver Anniversary to annoy and upset his ex-wife who cheated on him with his best friend. He chose Chloe out of all the girls around him because he knew Chloe wasn’t like the other girls who were crazy about him.

As I watched Chloe consume her dinner, I couldn't help but crack a grin. I was so excited and terrified about the evening that it was impossible for me to control my emotions. I would ask Chloe to marry me and be my wife. She already had my child in her womb and I couldn't wait to be called as dad.


My one and only hope was that she would reply in the affirmative, even though I was fully confident that she would. I noticed that she was still wearing the ring that I had thrown that night, so I'm going to replace it tonight, or just let her wear them both.
