The furrow in my brows began to deepen as I watched Katrina walk inside Joe’s bedroom. My hands were on my hips, counting from one to three, wishing she would come out and stay in my bedroom for the night. After counting up to ten and seeing that she still hadn't emerged, I let out a defeated sigh.


I stepped inside my room, grabbing the remote from my bed harshly and switched on the television, flipping through the channels. I leaned against my headboard as I opened Netflix.


I was scanning the list of movies when I heard slight knocks on the door, before it was slightly pushed open. My eyes lit up when Katrina’s head popped in.


‘‘Hey…’’ I smiled widely as I sat up straight, moving a bit to my side, leaving a space in the bed for her.


‘‘Joe is already fast asleep…’’ she smiled back in response, closing the door behind her. The frustration I was feeling instantly faded away and changed into one of excitement. ‘‘Do you like watching movies?’’
