KATRINA’S P O V
Travis and I waited side by side on the grounds of the beach resort for the exact moment the sun turned the hue of slumber. It was a drowsy pink, the kind of fanciful tint that clung with tiny wings before vanishing into the hazy darkness of the night. As the mist rose around the rugged bluffs, waves crashing against the coast could be experienced.
I was trying to suppress a smile when I heard a very loud sniffle. At that moment, Grandma was crying into her handkerchief. I looked into the eyes of my best friend Tina and saw the excitement that was radiating in them. As the sun dropped below the horizon, her silver clothing shone like magical dust. Logan, her boyfriend, smiled broadly and gave me a thumbs up. Yes. Travis’ brother, Logan, was now Tina’s boyfriend, and I had no idea that they were childhood best friends.
