Chapter 13 DINNER PARTY

''Are you ready?'' Raphael asked as he swept his eyes over me, scanning me from head to toe.

Over the course of the past few weeks, I have been unable to keep up with Raphael from the moment I got up in the morning, because he had already left for work. And at night, I was already asleep and would only be distracted when I heard his car parked in the garage.

I nodded to his question, before looking down, and running my sweaty palm over my simple black dress. During the time when Diane was still alive, she would purchase me lovely dresses even though she was aware that I didn’t need them. There were a lot of different styles of dresses organized in my closet; some of them I have worn to birthday parties that I attended with my friends, while others were yet to be worn and still have tags on them.
