‘‘Damn! You look so gorgeous!’’ I arrived at the hotel where the dinner party was being held at precisely seven o'clock in the evening, and Chosen was waiting for me at the doorstep of the building. He looked so strikingly gorgeous in his black tuxedo, his gelled hair was combed nicely, and his face was clean-shaven; there was not even a sign of a beard visible on his face. His brown eyes gleamed as they raked slowly down my body, before they settled on my necklace, and I couldn’t help but feel anxious.
