When we finally got rid of Holland, Naya started to express her disappointment about him, complaining about his attitude. ‘‘That’s your brother?’’ she questioned, squeezing my hand tightly as if to express the annoyance she was feeling towards my brother. ‘‘I can’t believe you have a brother like Holland. Why did he have to brag about having a branch of your dad’s company?’’ she rolled her eyes, glancing back, and glaring up at Holland who was still in his spot, watching us stride away from him.

I couldn’t help but let out a soft chuckle at Naya’s reaction, but I paused when dad and his wife just emerged from the room to my left, which was my father’s study room. Based on their reactions---their brows knitted and eyes narrowed, they must have heard what my wife said.
