Naya's P O V
After five months, Nico was declared free from leukemia, and to this day, I could hardly believe such a miracle occurred.
Yet, my heart told me it was because of Raphael that Nico was healed, but my mind said it was a miracle.
As I continued to fold Nico's clothes in his room, I reflected on our current lives. We now live in an apartment just a few blocks from the coffee shop where I was working. I've chosen to begin anew with him, distancing ourselves from everyone—my father, Kelly, Clover, and especially Raphael. It was time to live my life without interruptions, and I still needed to work for Nico's ongoing medical care and his education.
Since the day Raphael drove me back to the hospital, I've heard nothing from him. Not that I expected him to follow or call me, because I was the one who ended things with him. I was relieved that at last, I can live peacefully with my nephew.
