Helena's Reasoning

Helena left the gardens and turned a corner. Once her back was pressed against the wall and she was certain she could not be seen or heard by

Marquis Liam, she finally released her emotions. It wasn't often this happened, but that bitch had really driven her to her limits!

Her bruised ego combined with her need for validation resulted in angry tears streaming down her face.

She hated the way Felicia controlled the conversation!

She hated the way Felicia flaunted her engagement to Prince Constantine as if it was actually going to happen!

She hated that Alex was complimenting Felicia in front of Liam!

But she had lost it when Liam had called Felicia charming!

Charming?!

How was that gaunt-faced bitch charming?! She hadn't even taken any classes in etiquette! She had been cut off from society! She hadn't had any proper interactions with guests for years! How could she possibly be charming?!

Helena cried harder knowing her plans had been ruined. She had failed to win over Marquis Liam because that bitch kept talking!

His compliments are meant for me! I am better than her in everyway! I am a holy being, not her! I was blessed by the Goddess, not her!

I'm the one with magic, not her!

I have to take action as quickly as possible! She can't be allowed to rise above me! I have to slander her again! I did it successfully for the past 4 years, I just have to get back at it!

I can't let her claim her place as a Del Montague! She is the Duke's daughter by blood, which means if he starts to favor her then I'll lose my place!

I have to see mother again! She needs to know this is urgent!

A few maids approached her in concern when they saw she was crying, but Helena plastered a fake smile on her face and waved them away.

Squaring her shoulders, she walked inside and tried to dampen her panic.

Felicia was a stupid doormat by nature.

She won't be able to fight back once I hit her hard enough! I just have to make her crumble so she doesn't dare to rise up and challenge me again!

An evil smile curved Helena's lips as she envisioned herself knocking Felicia to the ground.
