Little sister or Big Brother

Dixie and Constantine chatted for a long time, nearly an hour. It got to the point where Tyren and Helena grew worried. They did not know what was being discussed, but they were convinced that Felicia was enamoring the prince with lies. Why else would he be spending so much time with her behind closed doors?

Bonnie was calm, knowing her sister was simply getting a measure of the man and correcting him on any flawed belief he held about her.

She asked the servants to serve their meal and encouraged Helena and Tyren to tuck in. When Tyren insisted on waiting for the prince, Bonnie told her that he may spend the rest of the day with Felicia and not return until dinner time.

Disheartened, the pair ate. Helena had no appetite. Her jealous fury made chewing and swallowing difficult. Why was Constantine with Felicia for so long?! What was that bitch doing with him?!

Indeed, the tea time with his royal highness extended for another hour. Dixie requested for some wine to be served and then closed the door again. Nobody was allowed to eavesdrop on their conversation.

Helena grew red at the thought of Felicia getting the prince drunk. Clearly she's going to take advantage of him!

After two hours of insightful dialogue, the pair exited the tea room and headed back outside. The royal coachmen and guards who had been resting inside, quickly assumed their positions as they saw their prince preparing to depart.

Tyren, Helena and Bonnie all came out to bid their guest goodbye. Helena was angry that she hadn't gotten a chance to be alone with Constantine and sneak him a kiss. Even more so, because he barely looked at her and was instead smiling at Felicia.

Constantine, who still had an arm around Felicia looked at Tyren and Helena. "Ladies, I will come visit again soon. Next time, we'll definitely have lunch together."

He turned his gaze back on Dixie and lifted both her hands, pressing a kiss to them. "My father was right, you are as every bit as enchanting as your late mother, Lady Felicia. I look forward to marrying you."

Dixie blushed, unknowingly.

The servants were surprised.

The prince got back in his carriage and rode off.

Bonnie smiled at her sister. "Well done, Felicia! You have won him over! The Duke will be pleased."

She looked at Tyren and Helena. "Aren't you going to congratulate her?"

Tyren said nothing as she glared at Felicia.

Helena, who was fuming to the tip of her toes stormed off angrily.

Bonnie shrugged and grabbed her sister's hand, leading her inside. "We're going to the church tomorrow. We'll be able to gain access to their library!"

"And the holy sword." Dixie affirmed. "We can acquire it for our own use. I think it's meant for you since you're Kartara's chosen Guardian."

Bonnie nodded. "For now, let's explore the Del Montague library. We'll be able to glean more information about the empire."

They turned and headed up another flight of stairs.

Bonnie spoke again. "I've asked a maid to bring you some lunch since you missed it while you were busy talking to the prince."

Dixie smiled in appreciation. Bonnie was really starting to act like a protective older brother. And she felt like the little sister right now. She wondered if the longer they stayed here, they would lose grasp over their own emotions and fully adopt those of Alexander and Felicia.

Stepping into the library, Dixie noticed that there was already a fire lit to ward off the chill and her food was already placed on a small table next to a settee. She could see the steam rising from the bowl of savory potato stew and freshly baked bread laden with butter placed next to a mug of hot cocoa.

I could really get used to this kind of luxury.

Bonnie stepped forward and picked up the mug, taking a deep sip before handing it to Dixie and running off to raid the nearest bookshelf.

Dixie rolled her eyes. I was mistaken, she still acts like a little sister.
