Surprise! Surprise!

The cold air buffeted Haiser's coat as he made his way to the drop off point. He could still remember his first mission in the army. This was the same feeling. As he walked, his senses were turned to the extreme. His eyes darted across, taking note of everything and ruling it a threat or not instantly.

No one was as pissed off as Haiser. Here he was trying to get his life back on track. His ambition had been on hold for so long, and before he could even start things back up again, there were a bunch of upstarts trying to stand in his way.

Up ahead, he saw the designated bench in the park. He also saw the burly man standing by the bench, alongside the big bag. Haiser quickly approached, happy that at least, someone had come through on their part.

"You the guy from Iresal?" He asked once he got close to the man. Getting a firm nod, the two picked up the bags and the man followed Haiser. All this had started the moment Joel came to see him.

Thinking fast, Haiser had decided on a plan instantly. There was only one way to deal with such small fries, and killing them was even a kindness. Haiser knew that this was a test. If he showed any kind of weakness, he would be rife for bullying. First, these people had beaten up his people and threatened him. If he did not give an appropriate response, then it would be open season on all his guys.

Once Haiser regrouped with Felix, they discussed the plan further. At first, Felix had been dumbfounded. Facing such a tough opposition, he did not have a clue on how to handle it. Luckily, his part in the plan was the easiest to execute. He would be the lookout, monitoring the movements in the headquarters. He wouldn't even touch a weapon. The other guy was a marksman, which meant that Haiser would he handling the infiltration.

The only consolation that Felix had was that, throughout this whole time, he had not seen Haiser's bottom line. The man acted as though he was planning to waltz across a park, yet he was going to infiltrate and retrieve someone from another mercenary group's headquarters. His absolute confidence was contagious, which was the only reason Felix stuck around. Maybe this was not as crazy as it sounded.

Meanwhile, the man who had met with Carlos and Joel relaxed on a couch in the top floor of a high rise building. He had on a bathrobe and a beauty gently massaging him. The was holding a communication device, fully entranced in his joy as he read the message that had just come in. He had just confirmation that fifty thousand gold had been wired into his account.

Recently, he had received a double commission job from a huge client, the Starline corporation. This was one of the top corporations in the planet. They had grown into multiple industries and were doing quite well for themselves. This was because they were one of the winners of the battle of the five families. Matter of fact, they were one of the top winners who would always garner much resources from the competition.

Since the company had formed the alliance with Harrison, they had been largely responsible for the man's current status and influence. They usually funded him behind the scenes, letting him do the dirty things they could not. This double commission job was such event.

The first part of the contract was to send participants in the competition. As a mercenary organization, they were bound to have several experts under them, which was how Starline corporation usually ended up winning most of the times.

The second was, to ice out any competitors, preventing mercenaries from taking jobs to participate in the competition. Without the mercenaries assist, small corporations with weak foundations would find it hard to recruit expert help.

As usual, Harrison had given the order, no mercenary group had dared to even look at the competition. While it would be a good chance to market themselves and gain good income, it was not worth it attracting the wrath of Harrison and his goons.

Just as everything was going so well, he got word that some idiots had actually formed a mercenary group and taken a commission job.

He could still remember the look of defiance in the two men. The rookies had tried to come into his market. Without manners, they had even taken a contract with one of the families that he had iced out.

In the market, he was the godfather. He had worked hard to take control of the market, even the local mercenary alliance were all in his back pocket. He was the kingpin of planet Tres, and no two bit upstart was going to show him up.

He had laughed when he learned the new group had only four members. By taking out two, he had damaged more than fifty percent of the organization, essentially incapacitating the entire group. Now, if the group learned their place and towed the line, he was inclined to let them continue operating, but under his say so.

In truth, Harrison did not just run mercenaries. In his employment, there were all manner of fishy people, which included even bandits, space pirates, and other types of rogues. He was not a genuine gangster, he just made sure he was present to supply the right muscle for job. Due to his influence, he could even mobilize other less than savory organizations.

This was how he had managed to claim his throne as top mercenary. Directly under him, he had the Two crowns Security consultants corporation. Every single member had outstanding battle records and much renown, especially in the security business.

The building he was in belonged to his company. It was his headquarters, his base of operations and his home. It had very tight security and overlooked the entire city. He would lookout from his penthouse and watch the city like a king.

He got mildly pissed off when he felt some liquid dripping over him and his white bathrobe. However the next minute, the man jumped to his feet, dumbfounded.

The liquid he was pissed off about was blood. The woman who had been massaging him lay on the couch's backrest, her neck slit. Behind her, there was a man holding a gun with a silencer. With a wicked smile, he said, "surprise! surprise!"
