692. Duskbringer.

"So, we finally meet... Watcher."

Doctor Doom's eyes, burning with fury beneath his iron mask, fixed on the Dark Watcher now trapped in celestial bonds. The murderous intent in his voice could no longer be concealed.

Through arcane retrospection, Doom had seen the erased histories—his death in a cosmic disaster, a future where he never returned to Earth, and worst of all… a world of mutants where Latveria never even existed.

This Watcher hadn't just erased Earth's heroes. He had erased Doom's entire nation.

"No one touches the people of Doom. Not even you, Watcher."

"Don't call me that!" the Dark Watcher roared, slamming a fist against his prison. But the blow echoed hollow. The Celestial-forged cage didn't just restrain his physical body—it severed his energy source and nullified his abilities completely.

"Save your strength, cueball," Dean said, swaggering up behind Doom with the Valkyrie blade slung casually over his shoulder.

Sam stood at his side, smiling faintly. "If you still had ties to the Fulcrum, maybe you could've burned your way out at a high cost. But you're corrupted now. You've got no cards left to play."

The Watcher stared in disbelief at the two men—strangers to all his centuries of observation across the multiverse. He had never seen them before.

Staring at them for a long moment, something clicked. He suddenly turned, his eyes wide, and fixed them on Alex.

"You—You brought them here?!"

Alex raised an eyebrow, lips quirking.

"Surprised I brought two regular guys to the party?"

He gave a shrug.

"Maybe you did study me for a long time. But if you truly understood me, you'd know—I've always avoided using my full power when I could. Because I never forgot that I'm still just human. And human courage? It's stronger than anything you imagined."

He turned then, looking to Doom and the magical assembly behind him: not just the sorcerers of the Sanctum Sanctorum, but Wong, Doctor Voodoo, the Scarlet Witch—all gathered under one cause.

"Thanks, Doom."

Doom lifted his chin, nodding with arrogant grace. "Naturally. But if you want to thank someone, thank those two. They found me. They told me the truth. They brought us back from the far side of history."

Dean and Sam exchanged glances and grinned.

They alone knew just how dangerous this mission had truly been.

After Alex had sent them into the past, the two faced perils beyond anything they'd ever encountered before. Thankfully, the infamous Twin Hounds of the Winchester Family still carried weight, and with Valkyrie blades in hand and a pair of guardian angels watching over them, they endured.

It was only thanks to the last-stand efforts of Agent Carter and Howard Stark that the Howling Commandos arrived in time—and at that very moment, history was rewritten.

Swept into the torrents of temporal convergence, Dean and Sam were nearly lost in the time stream. But fate—or perhaps something stronger—intervened. They encountered the Ancient One, mortally wounded but still wielding the Time Stone. Through sheer will, she flung them toward Doom. And that—that—was what sealed the final merge of the timeline.

"We found Doom early—with the Ancient One's help," Dean said gravely. "Though the rewriting of history seemed like an instant in this reality, we've actually spent ten years preparing for this moment. The Celestial energy binding you now… is the result of that decade of planning."

"Those who toy with time are always toyed with by it," Doctor Doom added, arms crossed, sneering as he stared into the shimmering prison holding the Dark Watcher. "Even someone outside the timeline like you isn't immune."

Only now did the Dark Watcher finally realize what had happened. Trembling, he turned his massive head and stared at Alex, who was standing there with an unreadable smile.

"You… You foresaw all of this from the beginning?!"

Snapping with rage, the Dark Watcher lunged at the walls of his prison, clawing at the Celestial barrier with snarling fury.

"You knew everything?! You deliberately held back your power—intentionally kept yourself hidden! You let us focus all our attention on you—so we wouldn't suspect those two ordinary humans! And only when I came after you… you sent them back into the past!"

Alex gave a casual shrug.

"You could say that."

He continued, voice calm.

"A friend once told me… sometimes, taking the old road works best. In certain moments, traditional tricks still get results. Turns out… he was right."

Alex narrowed his eyes.

"Do you know where you lost?"

Without waiting for an answer, he pressed on.

"You believed your vision let you see everything. You thought you'd figured me out entirely. But that arrogance… that's your greatest flaw."

"You were blinded by confidence. Trapped in your own echo chamber. You never truly understood how vast this world is—or how courageous the people in it can be."

Suddenly, the sky split with a deafening crack of thunder.

A colossal bolt of lightning tore across the heavens, slamming into a distant tower with a force that shook the earth.

Everyone turned instinctively toward the sound.

In the distance—impossibly clear—they saw it:

A towering figure, larger than any skyscraper, slammed its fist into the head of the Wild Sentry, sending the metal giant reeling backward under the titanic force.

At that moment, bursts of multicolored energy erupted across the sky. If one looked closely, they could see Iron Man's silhouette streaking overhead before diving into the battlefield below.

"The fight's begun," Alex said with a faint smile, then turned his head. "And your wager… is over."

With that, Alex called out to Dean and Sam, heading toward Polaris and the others.

"You think you've won?"

The Dark Watcher gritted his teeth, eyes burning with bitter resentment as he stared at Alex's retreating back.

Alex paused and glanced back over his shoulder.

"What, you still holding onto some last card?"

The Dark Watcher pressed his face to the Celestial barrier, veins bulging on his forehead with rage. Locking eyes with Alex, he spoke coldly: "It's not over yet, Invader. Maybe you've saved this world… but who will save yours?"

Alex's expression tightened. A flicker of unease flashed across his face.

The Watcher noticed it immediately, and his grim smile spread into something twisted—his laughter growing increasingly manic.

"From the moment you discovered us, you should've realized—I was never alone. My followers, the ones who walk the shadows with me… they'll erase everything about you."

"Every world you've touched."

"Every universe you've visited."

"Gone. Obliterated from existence. You think this is your victory?"

"Hahahaha! You think you've won!?"

As he howled with laughter, the Watcher suddenly went silent, locking eyes with Alex, his voice low and deliberate:

"Go to hell, Invader."

Alex's voice turned cold.

"Been there."

"More than once."

He didn't bother saying anything else. With quiet resolve, he turned and kept walking toward Polaris and Blink.

As he passed Doctor Doom, Alex clapped a hand on his shoulder.

"He's yours. Do what needs to be done. I know you won't disappoint."

Doom didn't flinch at the touch—quite the opposite. A slow smile curled behind his mask.

"Doom would expect nothing less."

The sun dipped below the horizon.

And with its setting light, the war ignited by Magneto… came to its final end.

This battle left half of New York in ruins. Hundreds of thousands of civilians perished in the streets—and that was just New York. Across the United States, violent clashes sparked by protests led to countless more casualties.

And yet, it was all worth it.

The Avengers once again stood tall in this world. The voices that had shouted the loudest against mutants—vanished like dust in the wind.

As history slowly settled into its new course, it seemed everything had finally returned to its rightful path.

Though the X-Men had now become a part of history, many believed that with the birth of more and more mutant children, a new generation of X-Men would rise—ready to carry the torch and shine once more.

"So, you're both choosing to stay here, right?"

Standing beside the hospital bed, Alex looked at Polaris and Blink as he gently asked the question.

"Yes, Mr. Alex," Polaris replied earnestly. "Our original universe is gone. But here, with the old generation of X-Men gone too, we have to stay—to help those who still need us."

Alex nodded firmly. Even he was moved by the choice these two young women had made.

"This world just survived a massive war. There's still a lot of prejudice against Magneto... your identity and powers might…"

He didn't finish the sentence, but Polaris understood what he meant.

As Magneto's daughter—even if from another universe—people who didn't know the full truth would still see her as a threat. To change those perceptions would take time and persistence.

Just then, a cocky voice rang out from nearby.

"Relax, Sherlock. Uncle Deadpool will definitely take care of these two little ladies. Heh heh heh~"

Dressed head-to-toe in crimson, Deadpool appeared between Polaris and Blink, throwing his arms around them with a sleazy grin.

"Wade…"

Alex looked at Deadpool, and with great restraint, swallowed the curse that had risen to the tip of his tongue.

"Time-hopping bard Alex," Deadpool said excitedly. "I've so been wanting to meet you. In fact, when the Watcher busted me out of the TVA, I saw you from a distance—I mean, through a mirror. You hadn't even arrived in this universe yet! Welcome to my multiverse, and hey—thanks for saving it!"

"If you're thanking me for saving your universe," Alex said dryly, "you're welcome."

"What? Oh no, no! I meant—thank you for saving the multiverse! Good thing you wrapped up The Boys in Season 3—'No More Supes' was a masterpiece! I think about it sometimes and—no lie—I practically climax."

Deadpool leaned in, whispering conspiratorially into Alex's ear:

"Actually, I already did. Also… you do not want to see Season 4. It's awful."
